Bang for your buck!
By Jamie on Reviewed in the United States on March 22, 2014
I don't get why people keep comparing this blender to the Vitamix. This is obviously not the Vitamix, however Dynablend still gets the job done and you will get the most bang for your buck with this one. So far, I've made smoothies and sorbets with this blender using frozen fruits such as strawberries, bananas, peaches, pineapple, blueberries, and blackberries. I've used this blender rigorously and for more than five times now, and I had no problems with the plastic base whatsoever. The only thing that bothered me initially was the motor smell. But like previous reviews have mentioned, the smell disappears after a couple runs. I was actually surprised by how powerful the blender was because the frozen fruits I used to blend into smoothies were hard as a rock. A little tip if you're blending frozen fruits: use the stainless steel spoon to mix and move the fruits around. That will speed up the blending process. If this blender can blend rock solid fruits, I think you are good to go with anything. I'm the type of person who needs all things kitchenware to be clean as a whistle before and after every use. With that said, I had no complaints when I had to clean the carafe. I simply used hot water, a scrub, and dish soap to scrub off the majority of the excess waste from post blending. Also, I've happily taken the advice from reviewers and followed through with an extra step of instructions to "fill the glass carafe with hot water, put it back on the blender, set it to blend, and let it run for at least a minute." I like to be extra careful and repeat this process twice or three times because you can never be too careful :) I also like that this product comes with a 10 year warranty. It's really nice and I feel reassured over the idea that I don't have to be so gentle or overly cautious every time I use it. If you are like me, a person who doesn't want to pay five times more for something that can do just the same for a much more affordable price and would like to spend that extra cash on something else, this blender is for you.

Changing review to 1/5 - never worked right, then finally broke
By BruceK on Reviewed in the United States on November 21, 2013
I have had this blender just under a year ... it is Sept 2014, got in Oct 2013. I never had much time to use it, so I figure I've used it about 4 or 5 times. It seemed to work OK which is why I gave it the original review I did (below), but today it was so hot I thought of pulling out the blender and making some Pina Coladas. I assembled the ingredients, turned on the blender and after a few seconds of noise and blending the machine stopped, totally dead, with smoke coming out of it. Every time I used it I got a slight oily odor from it, and the last time I got small particles of black plastic in my drink. This has not just happened to me, I have heard a lot of stories about this happening to people, and I thought I was lucky of those other folks were doing something wrong, but they were not. Woe to me the day I spent so much money on a blender like this that is a complete fraud. When a company makes something like this that has such poor performance that it breaks after 4 uses, you can be sure they never did any quality control and never field tested this product, they just shipped it out the door after getting people on You-Tube to market it and talk it up. I feel like a victim of fraud and I am really angry about being sold such a terrible product for so much money. This was my original review when I got the blender: This is a good powerful blender. It has some good features ... a glass container, a powerful motor, a nice spoon-like stirring implement to move stuff around if it is stuck or not blending. The only really problem is that it is so hard to take apart to clean. From a recent article I read, one of the worst breeding places for bacteria is in the small crevices in the bottom of a blender - so it is important to be able to take that apart and clean it. You need to use a tool to unscrew the bottom and then it is hard, sharp plastic that is a bit difficult to clean. The design of the cleaning method needs some work on this, until then it is too much work. That said, the blender works well, is powerful and variably adjustable. I will never buy anything with the Tribest name on it again, and will likewise tell everyone I know who might conceivably be interested that this company has a very bad history behind it.
