Magnificent Addition to Kitchen Ambience
By OceansideJT on Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2014
This is a beautifully realized mug rack that will make it possible to display even the large mugs collected over the decades during my travels around the globe. I have tried to return from all of the world's great cities with a unique mug as a memento of my journey and now all of them can be easily viewed and accessed. I also collect mugs with the road signs of past American railway lines and pictures of cats. Since I have only been to a few of the great world capitals so far, it possible to fit most of my collection on this sturdy rack and rotate my holiday mugs on and off throughout the year. For instance, Halloween is a favorite holiday and in October I can display those mugs depicting vintage witches, black cats, and smiling jack o' lanterns. Christmas will be especially celebratory as the colorful mugs of the season take their places with snowmen, angels, and Santas' festively arrainged. Halloween and Christmas are actually the only two occasions I have mugs to celebrate with. I do have at least a half-dozen cat mugs though, usually black ones and some are wearing Santa hats and others are in the aforementioned Halloween scenes which I leave out and use all year. Anyway, this is one of the largest racks I've seen and it looks pretty much as depicted in the photo. The only thing wrong with it is the price. It was kind of expensive but it's well worth it if you want to show off your mugs and make a real impression with visitors. Not that many people visit my kitchen because it's in a constant state of chaos but this rack opens up some cupboard space and may help me create some order in the mess. Hopefully, anyone who wanders in will be distracted by this fantastic mug display and not notice anything else and in that way it will pay for itself by the embarrassment it spares me. The rustic brown iron look matches perfectly with the concept I envision eventually achieving in the kitchen and I really like it. This is simply a great mug rack and I haven't used it for the other purposes listed in the description, such as organizing glass bottles or using it as a drying tree. It seems like it would work well those ways as well. I would be tremendously excited and overwhelmed with joy but those emotions are somewhat tempered by what this rack cost. However, as I assemble my mug collection and decide just how to hang them for the most dramatic presentation possible, I realize how happy I am with it and anticipate the satisfaction it will bring in years to come. Consider this vintage rustic brown iron mug tree as an investment in your kitchen and an upgrade to the overall environment of your home.

The bottom row of mug hooks is completely useless! So you have two options

The bottom row of mug hooks is completely useless! So you have two options: 1) leave the bottom row empty or 2) use the hooks inside the body of the mug instead of the handle. The problem with option one is that you can't use five of the fifteen hooks. The problem with option number two is that the mugs are perched precariously instead of secured by the handle, and then they move and shift and hit each other, causing damage to the mugs. Good idea, poorly designed.
