Every home needs copper mugs

The nickel lining wears away quick. Do with this what you will... some say the beverage needs to be met with the copper to achieve the proper taste and the nickel lining prevents this... until it has worn away that is. Leave an alcoholic cocktail sitting the mug for a day or two and your nickel lining will be gone. If you're hoping to keep the lining, I'd recommend hand washing/drying just as soon as you've finished drinking from the mug. Also, always hand wash and dry if you're looking to keeping them shining and untarnished. Perhaps buy 2 sets --- one for entertaining and looking pretty and the other for actual drinking. I own approx. 15 copper mugs and the ones that are used more often have taken on a rustic look and I'm not sure which is cooler. I pair these with metal straws for an extra cold experience. Be conscience of the amount of condensation/sweating these mugs do. I live in a very humid climate and they will leave rings/puddles on every surface. Be sure to use a Thirsty Stone coaster or cork... something absorbent. Cheers! They do dent if you drop them on tile... I have done that once...

Good Value If Well-Cared For

Copper is expensive and I have a few solid copper mule mugs similar in size and shape to these. But unlike these, my other copper mugs are heavier, patina and wear more gracefully, but were also a lot more expensive. The price point on these mugs is hard to beat when you want to serve authentic looking Moscow mules to a crowd. It's a practical, economical choice. Keeping them looking beautiful really has to do with gentle hand washing and thorough drying after each use. While the nickel-plating inside may make cleaning easier, I'm curious as to how it affects the flavor of a drink, or rather doesn't as it's completely inert. I feel like the acids in the lime juice should mingle with the copper and probably adds something to the flavor. Yes, it's pure conjecture, I suppose. The size is perfect for a mule drink and I use them for serving hard cider and sometimes beer. Overall, I'm pleased with these and I ordered a couple more sets. They do look expressive among the other glassware in the bar.
