Excellent and inexpensive seating solution for a small space
By Girl On The Go on Reviewed in the United States on August 28, 2014
The futon arrived quickly and in perfect condition. The color is a deep red, so it's not too bright, but has a very rich color appearance and blends well with multiple colors. In sofa position, the pad is not extremely thick, but will be comfortable for the limited amount of sitting time that I will be using it for. I added it to a spare bedroom to create a tv and workout room. I wouldn't use this for daily sleeping, as the padding is not thick enough for prolonged sleeping by an adult. A toddler or small child may find the bed comfortable. The futon is very light weight, so it was not extremely difficult for me to drag the box it came in up a flight of stairs. It comes well packaged and has a cloth cover to protect the fabric. The fabric has a velcro trim around the base of the futon to hold it down, if desired; however, it can't be removed. The corners are cushioned to protect the futon and your walls from damage, which I definitely appreciate. If positioned as a sofa, there is a ledge that is created behind the back of the sofa, which provides room to store items. The legs screw on very easily and were packaged in a zippered pouch made into the base of the futon. I used this same zippered pouch to store the protective cover for future use during a move. It only takes about 5 mins to have the bed setup and ready for use, because it is fully assembled with the exception of the screw-on legs. It is very well made for the price. As previously mentioned, it is very lightweight, so I wouldn't recommend it for use in a playroom, where it might receive a lot of rough play or jumping on it. I don't think that it would last long under such conditions, but would work well for additional seating when you have guests over. The legs are hollow, but sturdy, but again wouldn't last long under rough conditions; however, they could easily be replaced with wooden legs, if desired. This futon would be a great addition to a dorm room (or other small space) and would fit easily under a loft bed. It is definitely an excellent and inexpensive seating solution for a small space.

Good choice for a cheap place to sit
By James T. Jones on Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2016
UPDATE: After almost a year, my opinion is unchanged. It only gets about an hour of use a day, but it doesn't seem to be wearing out (fabric no longer looks like new, but no holes or fraying), and my fears that it could collapse were apparently unfounded. Still not very comfortable, but serves its purpose. Cleans up easily: my pets have made a few messes, and it came right out with just water and soap. ----------- I've had this set up for a couple weeks now, and it's exactly what it claims to be: an ultra-cheap futon, ideal when you just want something to sit on to watch TV. Color is nice (matches the photo perfectly), cushion fabric is soft, but the padding is very hard. The cushion fabric shows no sign of holes or fraying, but the black fabric lining the bed base started fraying as soon as I pulled it out of the box. I would NOT try sleeping on this, and it's too short for most adults to sleep on anyway. Oddly enough, my cat seems to love it; she gets mad when I cover the cushion with blankets. I doubt it will last more than a few years, but that's all I need. Very easy to assemble!! The legs are just plastic, and the overall quality just feels cheap enough that I won't let pets get underneath or behind it in case it collapses (I'm paranoid that way), but it hasn't actually shown any sign of problems: no creaking or bending, and it seems capable of supporting both me and my spouse plus a pet with no sign of stress (300 lb total). Note that--like many futons--the back of the couch will not touch the wall because the bed base is in the way, so stuffing enough boxes back there to block pets is somewhat tricky.
