iDevices Smart Kitchen Thermometer

Bought one of these when it was on-sale after seeing a posting on a blog I frequent. I hadn't heard of the device prior to reading the article but it seemed like a cool idea and worth the sale price so I gave it a shot. It works great and is easy to use. I downloaded the app for my iPhone which allows me to set food temp and walk away without having to set timers or cut into the food to check if it's "done". The thermometer can be used without the app if you want but putting it in a place you can see it (there are magnets in the base you can use to stick it on your oven. I've found myself using this on pretty much everything when we first got it but after a few weeks the novelty wore off and now I just break it out when I'm looking to get the perfect cook on things like steak. That's not a knock on the thermometer itself it's just another step to set it up and clean it and I find I don't need it for simple recipes I've cooked 100 times over. Overall if you have a smartphone that its compatible with I'd say it's a worthy purchase. I probably wouldn't buy one if you aren't going to use the phone feature though.
