Myn Yorkie LOVES this!
By Kraftikelli on Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2019
My 4 year old Yorkie LOVES this puzzle. It took her a while to figure out how to flip the ball covers, but she gets excited when she sees me get the puzzle out of her toy basket. She has the slide levers down pat, and she usually opens & eats those treats right away. It does seem to take her a while each time to remember how to flip the ball covers as you have to open them from the opposite side. They do NOT open towards you as you might think-therein lies the challenge for your dog! I LOVE it: 1. It is made of PLASTIC and therefore washable AND can be sterilized. Some of the others are made from pressboard and will fall apart if they get wet (or slobbered on a lot). 2. There are NO REMOVEABLE PIECES! My dog is a CHEWER and if anything has little pieces that can be removed I have to worry about potential obstructions in her belly. 3. She is still interested in the puzzle although she has opened the doors numerous times. One of the others I had purchased lost her interest after about the 4th time she had played with it. I would get it out and she'd look at it like "So what". This one comes out & the butt starts wiggling! I do have to say they are times I have to sit on my hands to keep me from reaching across and giving a red cover a little "nudge" to help get it started, but she eventually figures it out. Great entertainment for a small/med dog AND for their parents.

Too easy for my dog, but it was fun while it lasted
By Sandra on Reviewed in the United States on October 10, 2018
Three stars because it was a really great product for the five minutes (we played twice, this might still be too much time, since I caught it on video and the videos are barely 30 seconds,) during which it held my dog's attention. I was looking for some items to keep my dog entertained while I'm at work. I'm not sure this would work well for my dog with just treats -- she'd eat them all within a few minutes! But I tried it with a portion of her evening meal to see how it would go. She solved it quickly, and then enjoyed it enough to play a second time, but she didn't finish it. She just kind of decided to leave the toy to a side and hasn't even sniffed it thereafter. I do love that you can combine some of these puzzles toys, so hoping I find the right combination to hold her attention for a bit longer than just a couple of minutes.

my Dog really liked this puzzle, it’s nit to hard to figure out but hard enough for her mind to think. My dog is definitely a dog hat likes to have her mind working. I am going to be buying more of these that attach to this one soon. It’s a little noisy but it’s a plastic thing that dogs are trying to get food out of, so I can’t really complain that it’s the makers fault. I recommend this for medium to small dogs. I think a big or larger sized dog/ harder playing dog would probably break it. I really like watching my dog try to figure out how to open the chambers. She is so freaking smart, it’s probably be the reason because she is so entertaining to watch figure stuff out. She’s very smart and I’m glad that I found a puzzle that she likes too.
Good puzzle but very easy for a smart dog

I bought this to try to entertain my husky shepherd puppy (see video), but both he and my old man shepherd mix figured it out immediately. My pit bull didn’t quite get there.... but she did end up getting all of the treats. I’m going to keep this as an easier puzzle toy for them, but if you are looking to entertain a smart dog definitely upgrade from this puzzle. It is easy to clean and sturdy and all of the pieces move well, which is an issue I’ve had with other puzzles in the past. Videos show each dog’s first crack at it.
Great enrichment for my bunnies

Bored rabbits? My rabbits take turns free roaming the house. They fight so have to be in separate cages. The bun who is caged gets bored and jealous. I set them up with a few pellets in each compartment for their 'cage time' enrichment. The Seek-a-treat is a hit. It is also very cute to see my buns opening the compartments and scarfing down the treats. Great product at a good price.

My dog loves this treat box with its “secret” compartments. Very durable and with ease of cleaning and great price.
Good choice for your dog’s first puzzle

My dog loves this toy so much that she prefers to eat her kibble out of it instead of her bowl. Even with no food inside, she’ll walk over and nudge all the things open using her nose. I wish I could find the second puzzle to go with this. It has little nubs on the side to add on more puzzles, but this is the only one that Ethical Pets sells with that feature. I like that this puzzle is plastic because it makes it easy to wash. It has slid on my floor before, but it’s not something that happens often. My dog is a 20 pound Shih Tzu though. I imagine a bigger dog would cause this to slide around on the floor because it’s not super heavy or weighted. It’s a good introductory puzzle and your dog could learn to open the sliders using their nose or their paw. The blue color should be attractive to your dog. It didn’t take my dog too long to figure it out and she loved it right away.
an unfinished product

When it arrived, I cannot wait to open it. My dog already has an identical one, at least another one looks alike came as a gift, and I bought this one to attach together for a larger puzzle. It turns out this product came in an unfinished status. It's supposed to have nine screws in bottom to keep it a whole piece (like the old one that I have), but it was not and no screws provided at all! I have to fix it myself searching around for screws with the right size; otherwise, my dog will break it in seconds, chew the circular yellow covers, and swallow if he could. Wish it is just my bad luck and not the general case.

Our dog likes it, but it is NOT as challenging as we thought it would be. It's okay so far.
Not difficult, but an effective slow feed method

I was excited that this might keep my 3 month old Australian labradoodle puppy occupied for at least a few minutes, but she figured out this game in about 30 seconds flat. When she was done with opening each compartment, she kept closing and re-opening each compartment again - hoping to see more treats re-appear. I've found that this toy is most effective for slowing down my puppy's eating process - it does take her at least 5 minutes to eat her 1/2 cup of kibble from the 6 compartments, which is slower than her normal dog bowl. I do not recommend putting in soft/wet items in the small yellow compartments as the lids in particular is hard to wash after use. The red dome flip compartments are a little better/easier to clean - so I do use these for items like bananas & sweet potatoes.
