Nice but lots of dings and dents in them

I've boughten a variety of lanterns this year to do a family photo inside. I liked these for their dark brown almost black color and height to add depth and variety to the other lanterns I've purchased. I was pleased they arrived on time. Unfortunately, the tops of the lanterns are not smooth -- there is a variety of dings, dents and even some bumps. At least they all are very small and were not noticeable from a distance or in the photos.
