A Very Pleasant Surprise
By Penguinn on Reviewed in the United States on October 28, 2014
I have only been using the product for about ten days, but it really seems to me that I now have some hair coming in where there was not any previously. Where I do have hair growing, it appears that it is growing faster than I am used to seeing. I am really kind of stunned that I am actually seeing these types of effects after such a short period of time. The product is easy to use, but be aware there are the issues one would expect with having a layer of oil on your face. Use phones at your own risk! But it is easy to wash or rub off when you need to and it seems to wash out of my sheets and pillow cases without staining. I have had no problem with any skin irritation from the oil and the only downside is a slight odor that is not really offensive, but then it isn't particularly pleasing, either. However, if the product continues to work as it has so far, these few issues are well worth any inconvenience. Delivery was fast and the product seems to be of high quality. Be sure and shake it well, which becomes easier once the bottle is not completely full. Happy beard farming!

Don't fall for the hype machine - Review Manipulation and Lack of Business Ethics
By Mike F. on Reviewed in the United States on January 11, 2015
EDIT: Within the first day of posting this review it had "12 of 14 People Found this Review Helpful." It generated a lot of those reactions from my postings within Online Beard Growing Communities where I detailed my experience. Suddenly, over a single night, this review has 30 additional NEGATIVE rankings leaving it at "13 of 46" helpful along with a really inappropriate name calling comment. This review has destroyed my "reviewer feedback rating," but I am now more determined to expose this business' unethical practices. I have contacted Amazon to deal with these frauds and they claim to be investigating the issue further. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY YOU WILL REGRET IT. EDIT 2: The social media manager for this comapny admitted publicly on Reddit.com that they emailed individuals on a mailing list to mark my review as "unhelpful". The reviews on this product are manipulated. I will be adding photos and additional information to this review soon, providing details of my interactions with this company and their terrible product. Additionally, Amazon has removed more than a dozen fake reviews from this product over the last week. BUYER BEWARE. If you're interested simply Google "Reddit Beard Farmer" and look through the results before committing to a purchase. Original Review: First a little about me. I'm a mid twenties male living in a sunny state. I exercise daily, eat well, take multivitamins and have been able to grow beard hair for quite some time. I've been growing my current beard for several months now. I have a 'full beard' and don't have any major patches or bald spots - but I have some areas (my cheeks) which grow in a bit slower. I purchased this oil on a whim, having seen reviews for it on Reddit and decided to assume the risk of $25. During the course of using this product I followed the instructions as directed - I applied it when my skin was warm (right after a shower - drying off first of course) and massaged it deep into my skin across my entire beard. I used this product daily and tracked my results with weekly photos. Pros: The bottle will last you over a month Putting this stuff on everyday is a good conscious way to remind yourself not to trim your beard Some people will find the smell masculine The texture is easy to massage into your skin Cons: The bottle label will peel off quickly Putting this stuff on after a shower means you feel like you need a shower Most people will find the smell unattractive Your results may vary - but don't expect results I noticed no magical increase in hair growth, nor any noticeable increase either. I take pictures of my beard weekly for comparisons and the rate of growth in November seems no different than the rate of Growth using this oil every day of December. Overall I rate the product itself a 2/5. I have nearly finished my bottle, I have seen no increase in hair growth or additional growth or stronger hair on my cheeks or anywhere else on my beard. In my eyes, this product provided no tangible improvement over any other beard balm or oil; in fact it only included faults in comparison. Any other balm or oil would feel more comfortable on my face, smell better, and additionally tame/condition my beard - whereas this product did neither. I would not suggest this product to a friend, but I would say that if you are desperate to grow a beard this might help you along your journey mentally and may help prevent you from taking a scissor or trimmer to your beard to constantly maintain (or ultimately shave off) the growth you are busy establishing. Ethics: While I'm not going to say this product is a scam, I want to say that I feel that this business has some highly unethical business practices. I initially bought this product after reading about it on reddit, but later discovered that the account talking about how great their results were essentially only commented on threads about this product. Users saying their experience with the product seemed to be tied to the company as they only ever commented about beard oil in their user history. Furthermore, most of the /r/beards community seemed to have similar (non)results with this product. There youtube testimonials seem to be from local friends and possibly paid presenters - none of the reviews go in depth, all follow the exact same formulaic prompt, and none seem to be from channels that regularly post vlogs. There seems to be no oversight of this product, it has not been tested or reviewed, and the only scientific information provided on the website is a list of ingredients with some claimed peer-reviewed sources suggesting some margin of growth improvement. Finally, look through some of the reviews here on Amazon. Surely, some of these individuals represent satisfied customers and I wholeheartedly suggest you consider their reviews as you consider mine. However, a large number of reviews seem to be "bought" or "fake" - by looking at some of the five and four star reviewer's post histories, we find reviews of various "snake oil" supplements which promise miracle results all providing five stars. Look at a few reviewer's review history - not all of them, but some have very similar 'fringe' products that they all seem to review. These obvious fake reviews have driven the score on this product up in a very disingenuous way.
