Rowenta Ultrasonic Warm Mist 360 Humidifier Gray

We have used a couple of cheaper humidifiers (Vicks) in the past and this one is significantly better. First, the steam comes on instantly when pressing the power button, which is nice, and second, there are a ton of controls of the quality and timing of the steam release. The cons I have are all user error related so did not reflect on the rating, but are: - It probably says in the manual, but I will have to better research a solution which cleans the ceramic disk better because hot water and a abrasive rag is not cutting it. It does not build up fast (quite slowly actually), but its there and to run the unit as efficiently (and cleanly) as possible, this should be cleaned thoroughly. -Secondly, you can mess up the paint on your walls pretty easily. The instructions are very, very clear that you should put the unit in the center of the room so the (heated) steam does not build up and drip on your walls. My kid is young and would wake up and punt that unit right into the wall if I did that so I always left it on a shelf, with the units nozzle pointed inwards towards the center of the room. Not good enough. Within a week, we had drip marks in the corner of the room where the unit was and this needed to be repainted over because washing was not good enough. I could do what the instructions said and put it in the center of the room (or just further from the wall), or I could have better used the timing and temperature settings (vs blasting it on hot all night long), OR I could have used less cheap paint... Probably any of these paths would have led to us not having repaint our walls before showing our house to sell, but I didnt and paid the price. Like I said, cons are all user error and not factored into this rating at all. This is the best humidifier I have had (5 others) and everything from the ease of uses, how sturdy it is, bells and whistles, nightlight, and design are all superior in every way.
