I hope you like Christmas music. There are a lot of projects in here that require the Music IC, which is programmed to annoy everyone around you with Christmas music. I've found the projects to be fairly limited... many variations to the same idea. If you really want your kids to learn about electronics, get them the board kits that allow you to connect wires to the leads of the components. There is absolutely no explanation of what's going on in any of the projects. Many of the projects are descriptions that you should replace A with X and B with Y; this would be fine, but many of the projects require you to build project 100 (which is diagrammed), then replace components as described in project 101, then replace THE SAME COMPONENTS as described in project 102. Project 102 should start from a base of project 101! As a result, the instructions are unclear and my kids stumble on some of the instructions. My biggest gripe is that so many of the projects include an IC. This is a "Discovery Kit", yet there are very few basic projects to teach your kids about basic analog and digital circuits or even what the basic components do!
