Exceptional for the price

Works great. I found this shelving unit for over the toilet to be sturdy. I had to remove the bottom stability bar because it would not fit behind the toilet. The bar hit the water valve so it was removed. I saw no noticeable difference in the stability and it serves its purpose very well. There are a lot of screws needed to put it together. Took about 30 minutes. I am not mechanically inclined but I read the directions (which is essential). Once you get the hang of it, assembling it goes pretty fast. I got slowed down once at the beginning when I didn’t follow the directions exactly. The labeling of parts could be a bit clearer, but I figured it out. Make sure you tighten down each screw (several times). It definitely strengthens the unit. I don’t plan to put anything heavy on it, just towels and toilet paper. I can’t judge its stability if you were to put heavy things on it. I’m really glad I bought it. It does the job. The price was exceptional. There were several other similar items that cost almost twice as much. I’m happy I stuck with the bargain brand.

Note to Designers: This Is Supposed to Fit Over a Toilet

I'm really disappointed with this shelf, and I might even bother to return it if I can find a suitable replacement before the return period passes. Alas, I'm currently stuck with this wobbly shelf that really doesn't fit where it is as well as it should, as I already took a bunch of other storage shelves off the wall. I do have some suggestions for the designers, though: CHANGE THE ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS. They just feel as though they were designed by someone who wasn't installing this thing over a toilet. You should, in my opinion, assemble the sides first, including the short rods that improve stability where each of the thicker vertical rods are joined. After that, you should start installing the shelves. Once you've ensured everything is as stable as this thing can get (not very), instruct the assembler to move the unit into place and install the long horizontal bar that stabilizes the bottom of the unit. So, because of the placement of that long horizontal bar (which is at the exact height of the water shutoff valve the toilet is connected to - lucky me!), I had to put this shelf further away from the hall that originally intended. Thankfully, I have a Toto Washlet instead of a regular toilet seat, so I don't quite have the issue other people are complaining about when it comes to not being able to leave the set up. And sure, some people have suggested just getting something to set the shelf on to increase its height a little bit, which would resolve this issue, but I don't want this already wobbly shelf sitting unsecured on something that's making it even a bit taller. My suggestion to the designers? YOU KNOW THOSE HOLES THE LONG HORIZONTAL BAR LINE UP WITH SO YOU CAN ATTACH THE BAR? ADD TWO MORE HOLES - ONE ABOVE, ONE BELOW - TO LET US CHOOSE WHICH SET THE BAR ALIGNS WITH IT GOES ABOVE/BELOW THE WATER SHUTOFF VALVE WITHOUT ISSUE. Seriously, how hard would this have been? As it stands, I've got a wobbly shelf that might be a bit sturdier if I could put it against the wall, but I can't put it against the wall because the designers of this thing don't seem to understand that toilet sizes and water shutoff valve locations vary. If you really want to give this wobbly mess a shot, then maybe dig around in the reviews for the appropriate measurements first. I really wouldn't recommend it, though.
