Contigo Travel Mug

This this is AMAZING. I really wasn't expecting a product even half as good as this. First of all, let me just say outright that I dislike travel mugs. I feel like you always get this plastic taste with every sip of coffee (which is what I use them for), which really turned me off to wanting to use them. I've been using disposable hot cups on a daily basis to bring a cup of coffee to work, but, in the effort to save a little money, decided to try yet another travel mug. A friend recommended this one because it has a lock on the top (no worries about spilling in the car) and will only dispense while pressing the large button on the back, opposite the mouth piece. Both of these features are optimal to prevent leakage and spillage, although I thought the button pressing would be counter-intuitive. It isn't. It did take me a little while to get used to that, as does any new thing, but now it's second nature to just press as I drink. And that button (which is pictured in the photo) is literally about two inches long, so it's not like it is hard to miss.At first, the mug did have that odd travel mug taste, but after a few washings, that went away. Now every coffee tastes fresh brewed, not tainted by any sort of plastic/metal product. Further, the coffee in this thing stays warm for HOURS. I make my coffee every morning around 7am. Don't usually get to it until around 8:30am, which, by that point, it is still very hot. It will stay up to lukewarm by noon. That's quite a duration! I am, by far, most impressed with that.It is easy to clean. The top screws off, and the inner parts of the cap are on a spring that you just pop open to expose the entire inside of the cap to thoroughly clean every area.I love this mug. I'd recommend it to everyone who travels with coffee, or likes to stretch out their morning coffee for hours. Fantastic product.
