Makes brushing fun and easy for kids
By Amazon Customer on Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2025
I bought the Philips Sonicare for Kids 3+ Bluetooth Connected Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush for my child, and it has been a game-changer for our brushing routine! The interactive app makes brushing fun, keeping my little one engaged and excited to brush every day. The toothbrush itself is gentle yet powerful, ensuring a deep clean without being too harsh on young teeth and gums. I love the Bluetooth feature, which helps track brushing habits and encourages better technique. The battery life is impressive, lasting for weeks on a single charge. Plus, the cute design and customizable stickers make it even more appealing for kids. If youโre looking for a toothbrush that makes oral hygiene fun and effective, this is the one! Highly recommend!

(๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐ข๐ฑ๐ฑ ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ท๐ช๐ฆ๐ธ ๐ช๐ด ๐ฃ๐ฆ๐ญ๐ฐ๐ธ) We have purchased ๐๐ข๐จ๐ฅ of these over the years and they have ALL malfunctioned. My son used our sonicare to soothe his gums when he was a baby. He would kinda gnaw on the side of it with his mouth and it really helped. We decided to get him his own and first it seemed great (they all did). And I liked that the sparkly app, specifically because it showed where the toothbrush should be touching the teeth. After a couple months, it would intermittently get REALLY loud. Soon it was loud all the time! I guess I shouldnโt say โallโ because every once in a while it will be quiet again for a brush or two. No idea why. It wasnโt just my son that couldnโt handle the noise, neither could we! It was awful! He didnโt want to use it anymore and who could blame him? We thought it might be from getting dropped (because heโs a kid and they drop everything). So, we bought another. Bought it, brought it home and it was noisier than the others were when they worked normal, so we took it back and exchanged it for another. ๐ง๐ผ๐ผ๐๐ต๐ฏ๐ฟ๐๐๐ต #โธ Guess whatโฆ same thing as the first one!!! Worked great, was quiet and then it got loud, again. Now I give up. But waitโฆ thereโs more. We had bought one for my niece when we bought our first one but apparently she only used it a couple times. They said she wouldnโt use it so they gave it back to us so my daughter could try it. Guess what, it was making the same loud noise!!! She only used it a handful of times. I kept it for a little while and I was about to throw it away but I turned it on first and guess what??? It was QUIET!!! So, I had my daughter try it and she used it a couple times but she didnโt like it because she said it tickled her teeth too much even on the sensitive setting. I really think there should be a 3rd super low setting for helping them get used to it, but thereโs only 2 settings and there isnโt a big difference between them. My son was now using a cheap generic electric toothbrush from Amazon and it was great so he didnโt want to use this one. The kids recently wanted to use the sparkly app again so I was going to have my daughter try this toothbrush again butโฆ it was so loud it hurt! NEVER AGAIN, SONICARE!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!! ๐

The sonicare kids sparkly app: I like that it responds to the toothbrush turning on and off and shows where the actual bristles should be touching the teeth. It follows a great pattern and my son did an ok job following along. Maybe I expected too much because I thought it would show you WHERE they were actually brushing (why else would it be Bluetooth?) but it just shows you where the brush SHOULD be. The ONLY thing it does with Bluetooth, is basically a start and stop button for the app. Thatโs it. Brushing earns prizes like food, paint cans for colors and different backgrounds like a snow scene, plus the little sparkly is so cute! You can poke him, tickle him, pet him, change his color, etc. The app can be very frustrating. Sparkly wonโt eat in the morning if he hasnโt brushed his teeth, and he wonโt eat at night after he brushes his teeth. They get mad that they have all this food and canโt ever feed it. While the app does have a manual mode for use with other toothbrushes, it doesnโt show a toothbrush head and only shows bubbles. Itโs hard to tell where the toothbrush should touch the teeth. I get that they want people to buy the actual sonicare to use the app, but when the toothbrush got too loud to use or if their teeth were too sore to use it turned on, it will only do the bubble view. (We bought the toothbrush, so technically we bought the app, right?) I thought that even though the sonicare was really noisy, I could just turn it on and wrap it in a towel. But it is still too loud! Way too loud!!!! In a towel in another room and I still canโt handle it! FYI we took really good care of the toothbrushes. The first one was dropped several times (hence why we thought it was user error) but we were extra careful with the others. On the bright side, we just found a virtual reality manual toothbrush for $7 that uses the camera and dots on the bottom of the toothbrush to figure out where they are brushing AND it gives you a parent report with a diagram of the mouth showing where they brushed and where they missed! It is the most amazing toothbrush and our best purchase of the year!!!!! I spent over $120 on the sonicare garbage but I wouldโve happily paid that much for new $10 VR toothbrush we have!!!
