So glad i bought this
By KD21 on Reviewed in the United States on July 13, 2016
Keep in mind I've had this thing for a day while reading this. I will say to this point I've been very impressed with the device. It does a thorough job cleaning. At times it seems like it is just wondering around cleaning between bumps and turn around but it continues to clean until it covers every single area. It can get in tight spots and will make sharp turns around legs of tables or chairs. It saves u so much time and is a very intelligent device. Just keep in mind that on initial cleaning it will clean longer than normal and be sure to empty the bin every couple days from what I've seen. U can set it to clean once a day at any time of day u want so u can actually schedule it to clean while at work or at night which ever u prefer and always have a clean house. It comes with a virtual wall which is very nice. It can spot clean or clean a room at a touch of a button or like I mentioned be scheduled to clean. So far I love this device and I'm glad I bought the refurbished version as it saved me a lot of money and is in perfect new condition. I would highly recommend this to anyone that is like us and have pets but not much time to vacuum every day. Update after almost a month of owning. So I felt so strongly about this item that I decided to add a little to my earlier review. This is the most amazing thing I think I've ever purchased on amazon in 6 years and thousands of purchases. The thing is when u buy this type of vacuum u think we'll it will keep the house some what clean but won't have a strong enough vacuum to clean thoroughly......Wrong the vacuum is way stronger than I would have ever thought. I'm amazed every time I clean the compartment as to how much she gathers. Don't ask why I call it a her but my wife and I have gotten in the habit of talking about roomba like a person. Anyways I honestly wish I had bought this when I originally thought about it 3 years ago. My house stays clean without any effort just schedule her and your done. Unless for some reason she craps out on me in the near future this was an amazing investment. We live in a ranch style house which makes this perfect for us she cleans every room in the house with exception of the bedrooms with ease. I'm sure she could handle more but we just focus on those areas. Take it from me if your thinking about purchasing this but feel like I did thinking it can't be strong enough or thorough enough think again it's perfect. On a scale of 1 to 10 on just the cleaning I'd give her a 9. She gets almost everything and on occasion I'll notice a spot she missed or that had gotten dirty again quickly with our two dogs roaming. Make the jump it will be very worth it. This is just an honest opinion from a paying customer I'm not a vine member or anything like that I paid in full for this item and would do it again in a sec.

It does the job, but it's a pain in the back
By Kat/Seb on Reviewed in the United States on May 22, 2017
The Roomba gets the job done. It's fair to start with that. But my God, this is one stupid device straight from the 80's. PROS: - The floors are kept in check and relatively clean. Which admittedly is the most important thing - The timer function works well (it starts when it's supposed to) CONS (brace yourself): - Loud: yes, it's loud asf. Good luck enduring the noise for more than 5 minutes - Inefficient: being that it's 2017, I kind of expected that the Roomba would scan the house once, starting from a predetermined position, learn the layout and use that information to optimize its path. But no, its vacuuming pattern is only a peg above random. The Roomba can turn a corner and look for a way out of a tight spot, but that's as "smart" as it gets. As such, you see the gizmo hitting the same areas over and over and over, while there's a pile of beach sand 3 feet away - Gets stuck all the time: the floors need to be immaculately free of small and medium objects or the Roomba will get stuck. Not a day goes by that the Roomba can't complete a cleaning cycle because it swallowed the sleeve of a sweater, it got tangled up with some cellphone charging cable or it got stuck on a relatively large infant toy. It's a good deal of work having to prepare the house for the Roomba to do its job, which sort of defeats the purpose. At least in part - Systematically fails to find its way back to the base to recharge: this is a twofold problem. First, the Roomba just doesn't seem to have the capacity to find the base all by itself. We've had this for a month or two and I think it saw it dock on its own twice. Second, the base is very light and the Roomba just pushes it around when trying to dock. This results in a pretty stupid - albeit somewhat funny - show in which the Roomba is chasing the base while pushing it around. The base needed to be heavier and sturdier, I believe. We found ways to prop it so that it doesn't slide sideways when the Roomba is coming to dock, but even when that happens, it doesn't always successfully connect, which in turn results on the Roomba endlessly going back and forth trying to hit that sweet spot in which it's actually recharging The Roomba has the potential for convenience and it can get the job done, but for a whooping (and frankly laughable) $300, I can't recommend this product.
