For anyone who has loved Cuisinart food processors forever, this is the best current model.
By Stevie Standish on Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2024
I have had Cuisinart food processors since they first came out and loved them for years, only replacing them when I wanted a larger bowl or different features, always giving the old one away to someone I knew because they were always still working fine. The last time I did that I regretted giving my old one away because the newer models have been so unsatisfactory I found myself avoiding using them. I never understand why "engineers" mess with good design only to replace it with bad design -- cost reduction, I guess. I researched other brands of processors exhaustively for literally years, and was never inspired by what I learned about them, so kept soldiering on with the Cuisinart I had come to despise. Finally, last year I saw this Cuisinart model a decided to give it a try. I have had it for a year now and can honestly say I am in love with my Cuisinart food processor again and highly recommend this model. Every time I use it I am impressed by the intricacy of the planning and modelling that went into the design to make it work so well. I did experience a learning curve, because there are some significant differences between this model and all the other Cuisinart models I have had and seen, but it works extremely well for all my tasks and, because of these design changes, it holds more liquid without leaking all over the place like other recent models.

This food processor does an okay job, but there are several things I don't like about it. 1. It comes with a blade for grating that has two sides, supposedly for two different sizes of shred. As you can see in the photo, there is barely a noticeable difference between the two sides. When I grate Parmesan, I want a very fine grate, which I can't achieve with this machine. 2. It seems to be made for a left-handed person. I've had a few food processors over the last 30 or more years and they seem to have been designed for right-handed people. As a righty, I want to open the lid with my left hand, which would mean turning the front of the lid to the left side, so I could use my right hand to scrape the sides down with a spatula. This lid on this machine turns to the right; I either have to use my right hand to do this and then pick up the spatula or cross my left arm in front of me to awkwardly open it to the right. I suppose left-handers love this! 3. There is a lip on the inside of the lid that measures almost an inch deep. Food gets stuck in that lip, so it doesn't fully shred/grate and it requires extra effort to get it out. 4. The pusher doesn't push down far enough to more fully grate food. There is always a sizeable piece that just can't get grated and I end up doing it by hand. What's the point of using a machine if I have to dirty a hand grater anyway? 5. It makes a whining sound. I wouldn't mind this so much if 1-4 weren't issues. But I could use without this irritating sound, which sounds like the motor is working harder than it should.

I bought this to replace one I had for over 20 years! This is 11cups, I think my old one might have been only 8 cups. There are a few different features on this one, but the basics are the same. I had bought other brands, but they didn't last more than a few months. I hope this one lasts as long as the last Cuisinart I had!
Easy to use at a good size

Easy to use without too many unnecessary bells, and whistles. Apple capacity for my uses I’m glad I got it.

I had a different brand. it did not last long . so i tried this one and went one cup larger. it makes double batches of almost anything i need. i have used it for pesto and muffins mixes so far that contain zucchini and it mixed extremely well. i have not used all the blades yet. just the basic one.
Very powerful!!

I have owned 2 of these machines in the past and use them more than 2 times a week if not more. The capacity of this processor is the largest I’ve ever had. Very convenient when making items that have a lot of liquid. It doesn’t leak! Awesome!!!
Perfect!

Not as good as the older models, not for frozen fruit

I’ve had an older model for over 10 years and decided to upgrade for a bigger bowl. I’ve made “ice cream” from frozen bananas in my old model with no problem nearly every week that I owned it. The first time I tried it in the new one I was disappointed. The frozen bananas barely spun and the blades did not pull the mixture down into the bowl as it spun. I had to nearly completely thaw the bananas to mix and then referees before we could eat the ice cream. The second time I thawed the bananas at least halfway and the machine still took quite a while to get anywhere. I had to keep stopping it to break up the fruit and push it down to the blade. It took three tries before it would start circulating the mixture into the bowl. Also, there are three different sizes of removable tube. The smallest seems kind of useless and the other two are not easy to remove one-handed while holding the item I want to drop in. I would have been just as happy with one easy to remove mid-size tube. Not too late to return it and considering.
Could Use Improvements

I've been using this food processor for awhile now and there are few things that bother me about it. The base is not heavy enough and sometimes it shifts a bit when the machine is running. The chopping blade is too high; contents do not mix or cut evenly as they are either pushed up the sides or go under the blade. The lid is weird, it's hard to put on and take off and clean. No storage box for keeping sharp blades in. Noisy!
