Yes, this really works!

but it's stainless steel and it really does work! I used to just rub my hands around the sides of our stainless steel sink, but this is a lot easier and works better as you can cover all the surfaces of you hands and fingers to "wash" the onion or garlic smell away. It seems sturdy. Know that this item is hollow and light, not solid and heavy.)

Bought this as a gift for my mom, and I had to file two of the edges smooth because they were quite rough and was worried she would get scraped by it. Yet to see if it works lie it says it does or not.
