Paddywax Apothecary Artisan Hand-Poured

I have a couple critical comments about this candle. I'd like to have given it more stars. First of all, where's the scent? Normally for me, a subtle scent is a good thing. There's nothing more nauseating than an overpowering scented candle. Unfortunately, Paddywax errs on the side of way too subtle. The scent is so faint, as to be nearly non-existent. I was looking forward to the orange-bergamot aroma, but I can hardly detect it at all, even when I hold the burning candle an inch from my nose. I could burn regular candles if I wanted to just smell wax, so this was quite disappointing. Secondly, in the photos the jar looks like dark amber glass which I love as a home decor element. I figure if I can't smell anything, these should at least look attractive in my decor. But when the candle is lit you can easily see it's not amber glass at all, but just clear glass that's been dip-dyed brown - leaving drips and pools in the seams. Probably a minor issue for most people, but for me it takes what would otherwise be a very attractive item down a few notches. Makes them look cheap, if I'm honest. And at this price, I feel like they could make or source some actual amber glass bottles. All in all, I'm disappointed. I thought with the clever name, trendy label design, and creative aroma blends this would be a great find and potential unisex gift for the holidays. Unfortunately, I'd be a little embarrassed to give these.
