My Water Dispenser Flows Freely Again!
By G. Lucas on Reviewed in the United States on March 23, 2019
My Whirlpool refrigerator displayed a “Replace Filter” alarm after it was one year old. I noticed that the water flow the dispenser had really slowed down as well. Decided to try this filter and I am very happy with the performance. I unscrewed the old filter (keep a couple of paper towels under the dispenser when you uninstall/reinstall the filter as water will drip a little bit) and screw the new filter into the housing. Only takes about 1/4 turn, so don’t over tighten it. Remember to slowly fill the new filter with water to “prime” it before you install it. Now the water flow is noticeably stronger and water tastes great! Great product at a great price.

Filters well but causes rough water flow
By R. Precourt on Reviewed in the United States on August 11, 2017
The filters fit perfectly, seem to work OK, and the water tastes the same to me as it did with the original OEM filter. The price is very reasonable and the company is very responsive and stands behind their product. When I first received my new filter, I installed it with no problems. I ran several pitchers of water through the system to ensure that the lines were thoroughly flushed out. Initially, the water ran almost black and had a horrible odor to it. This cleared up though and the water was fine after flushing it through a bit longer. The one big difference I noticed was that the water stream was very turbulent and caused excessive splashing, as if there was still air in the lines or something. We used it for a few days and the problem did not go away. I contacted the company and explained what was happening and they said it did not sound normal to them. They said they would send a replacement and did so immediately, which I received within a day or two. I installed the replacement filter and it did not have the initial black water and bad smell like the first one did, so I suspect the first one may have been damaged in some way. However, the replacement filter still causes the same splashing and rough water flow as the first one did. After using it for a couple weeks, the problem persists. Now within the last couple days I'm noticing that the flow is starting to return to closer to normal (smoother and less (or no) splashing), so maybe in the long run it will end up working properly. I will stick with this one for now, since it seems to be starting to work better, however, prior to that I was seriously considering going out to purchase an OEM filter to stop all the splashing. Overall, I think this is a fairly good product and the price is certainly much less than the OEM filters. The company is very committed to their customer's satisfaction. Your results may be different than mine and could vary based on the brand and model of your refrigerator. I have attached a video clip of what I was experiencing with the water flow. This is after about two weeks of fairly heavy use and you can see it still looks like there's a bunch of air in the lines or filter. I have another video I took from a side view showing just how much air is in the water, but they will only let me upload one video.
