Great little vacuum!

VMInnovations shipped this super fast! They also did a really nice job refurbing and repackaging. It looked like it was a new product. The vacuum NV680REF is a great product. Shark has really done a fantastic job and their attention to detail is outstanding. Overall this product is a winner! I'm very impressed with how light this model is. I chose emptying the dust bin a couple more times over more weight. The other models had twice the capacity but also almost twice the weight. I really like that it basically has a built in extension and the ability to run it like a canister vacuum. This model has led lights and the swivel turn. It also has a switch to turn the beater bar/brush roller off and on allowing use on hard floors without the brush scratching up the floor. The two tools it comes with are both multi-function. The crevice tool has a dusting brush built in that conveniently slides into place and is held there via a plastic locking tab. The second is a square brush that the brush can be removed for upholstery. The hose could be a foot or two longer so that when the lift away motor/bin is off and on the floor it doesn't stretch the hose when all the extensions are in and the handle can get a bit heavy when using the long extension to suck up dust overhead. They might consider putting another quick disconnect where the hose meets the handle or straighten the bend out. I had to fish a mitten out but there is a slight bend so I couldn't use a broom handle as a ramming rod. Shark has a bunch of models and sub-models and does not seem to have a good side by side comparison chart and it was really quite confusing thus the longer review.

Whomever "renewed" this vacuum did a C- minus job. The spinning brush stopped running this past week. As I examined what might be the problem, I noticed something that I overlooked when I took delivery: The universal joint that gives this thing the maneuverability that they like to brag about was broken. I believe it was broken from day 1 (MY day 1 - it was after all, "renewed"). The spinning "brushroll" which is switchable between carpet (spinning) and floor (not spinning) always had run intermittently (when set to carpet) - I mistakenly thought it was doing so due to some intelligent sensing mechanism - it spun when I pushed it forward but stopped when I pulled back - as if intentionally so. I just thought it was intended to operate that way. Now that I see this broken universal joint coupled with the fact that the rollerbrush no longer spins, I see that the thing most likely has NO such intended intermittent function and was instead, broken since the day I started using it. The problem likely is the path of the wire from the handle to the roller head, and is likely affected by the broken joint. Further, the clip that holds the springy flexible hose up against the unit when operating it as you normally would (as an upright) has the wrong button connector to clip it to the vacuum body - they mixed up the models and the "tab A" did NOT fit the "slot B." This was overlooked by me. I did not think the mis-matched binding clip was a big deal and I did not realize that the rollerbrush and joint were in essence, broken. It has been over a year now, I'm certain there is no warranty recourse. However, if anyone at Amazon or this reseller is reading this, and you understand my issue, I would hope to have this thing repaired on someone's dime (other than me). I missed the error and assumed it was an intended intermittent function of the rollerbrush but it was broken and I just didn't realize it
