Perfect for any outdoor activities.

This is a really neat sleeping pad. I don't know how many times I have had a sleeping bag on the cold hard ground that makes it way to uncomfortable to sleep no matter how peaceful camping is. This sleeping bag is the perfect solution to camp in style. This is a a self inflating sleeping bag that you do not need to carry extra equipment for like a pump or spend forever blowing up by hand, simply open the valve and air flows into the sleeping bag making it inflate automatically. The sleeping bag is waterproof so it will not retain water or get wet which will help you stay dry while sleeping and also aid in retaining the warmth while you are sleeping. The entire sleeping bag when deflated is super compact and fits into a color coordinated drawstring water resistant bag. It is easy to carry and does not add a lot of weight or bulk to the camping gear you are already carrying to the campsite. It is winter time here so I do not have plans on camping anytime soon, but I did inflate it and lay it on my floor to take it for a test drive. It is very comfortable and soft to sleep in. There is plenty of room to move around and I did not at all feel restricted. I can't wait for spring now to take it on our first trip of the year. A must have to camp in style.

Not Durable
By Major Havoc on Reviewed in the United States on October 9, 2016
Update: 12/16/2016 I had to drop my rating by two stars due to the durability. During my last camping trip one of the internal tubes busted or became separated right near the top of the mat causing the top portion of the map to blow up like a pillow. I am not sure how it happened because I have a one man storm tent and cannot walk on or sit on this map, and I only needed to add a couple of breaths to inflyit to my personal comfort level. Lesson learned: Purchase a foam mattress like I was issued when I served in the US Army. Somehow my order was lost in transit, so I had to go to a local sporting goods store to buy this exact model. Luckily I did not cost any more than it did here at Amazon. It does self inflate if you give it enough time, but you might want to blow it up a bit more if you like a firm mattress. The built in pillow has to be inflated manually, but it is not a problem since most people will not want to inflate it to more than half full. Stowing and packing is not a problem, but the weight might be an issue for a few people. It does sleep comfortably, but you might want to put a towel on the mattress before putting a sleeping bag on it to keep from sliding off the mattress while you sleep. There is no mention of an R value for insulation, so I imagine it will be good to around 30 degrees. Update: 10/14/2016 I just came back from a four day camping trip and can tell you that this does give you good comfort even when you have tree roots underneath. It is no miracle worker, you still need a basically flat surface to lay it on. I was camping down in the Cookson Hills of Oklahoma where the bedrock is only a few feet down, if not right at the surface. So tree roots are a problem there when it comes to sleep comfort without a cot. The seller has also informed me that the insulation value of R4. Although Autumn has started it hasn't been very cold here in Oklahoma, but I can tell you this product can handle a low of 49 degrees with no problem. The only downside is that the fabric cover can stain, but I think a little laundry detergent on a toothbrush and a damp rag can take care of that. All in all I can highly recommend this product for camping trips and light hiking.
