Gave this 5 stars because it works great for what I want
By Amazon Customer on Reviewed in the United States on May 5, 2016
Was looking at the ICY Hot TENS for the back and as I researched it, found that having the capability of placing the TENS pads wherever you want is valuable. After some more research and looking at reviews I chose the Belmint TENS unit. Came on time and is very functional. Gave this 5 stars because it works great for what I want. There are three type of stimulation: massage, beat and knead and then there are auto procedure selections for waist, shoulder, joint, hand-leg, sole and a repeat that will incorporate the three of these for the area. The beat mode I don't appreciate, but imagine there are those that do. The unit has intensity levels of 1-10, minimum to extreme, so it will cover what you need. I also bought rechargeable batteries and charger at a good price, 29.99 Sanyo Eneloop Ni-MH Charger (with 8 "AA" and 2 "AAA" Batteries, Plus 2 "C" and 2 "D" Adpaters). I just got the TENS unit about a week ago and have use it a about 30 minutes a day and it is still operating on the batteries that came with it. It comes with four pads and I have reused them and they still work, but I did order extras, a 44 pack for 19.99. It would have been nice had the unit itself come with better pad placement instructions. The ones with the unit are on the back of the last page of the instruction manual and it pretty useless, but we have Google and I solved that in about 5 seconds. Would really enhance the product to have a thorough placement guide because where you place the pads is very important. One thing I would change on the unit as far as design is to make the intensity dials operate the same. They are opposites of each other. Once you start them, to go down is not the same on each side. Trust me you learn about this real quick and comically speaking it jolts you into remembering.

Good complement to physical therapy
By Mia V on Reviewed in the United States on August 3, 2017
This is smaller and doesn't work nearly as well as the professional unit at my physical therapists. That said, it's okay for home use. I find the use and care of the sticky electrodes a bit complicated. My PT advised wiping the skin with rubbing alcohol before placing the electrodes and also wiping the sticky side with alcohol after use (I use the prepackaged alcohol wipes that labs use to clean your skin before inserting a needle.) I also purchased a larger set of electrodes for my lower back. I have used this machine mostly on lower back. It gives me relief from pain for several hours, and that's several hours without a pain-killing drug! I've used it with less results on my shoulder, but I may have placed the pads wrong. I would like to use it on the ball of my foot where I have a neuroma, but not sure how to do that. The instructions with the machine are minimal. This is a good thing to have on hand to use along with physical therapy.
