Fish Pure Copper 8.5 ft. Rain Chain

I bought this chain a year ago & only recently hung it up w/ excitement! We're in a rainy area of Hawaii Island so didn't take long to see it in "action". Disappointed that rain did not run past first fishes mouth & continue down the chain as expected. Instead, it is "splashy" as another reviewer said & was kind enough to post pic. Tried ways to fix...tail end up? Nope. Removing a cpl links at top so fish mouth could catch more water? nope. Wait for a hard rain, soft rain, medium rain (maybe a finicky design?) Nope, nope and nope. It's a poor design if use as a kusari doi (rainchain) is your objective. It was for me, meant to help keep my water garden in a whiskey barrel below filled but no, it creates a splashy mess. Unfortunately I did not see other review stating my same complaint before purchasing. ~I WILL say that traditional designs such as Lotus Blossoms (shaped like large cups) work marvelously. I know, because we had one at our home which is now buried under 80ft of lava. I'm missing sight & sound of that rainchain very much. Thought I'd try a fancier one this time to celebrate our new home & so disappointed that I want to cry. ~The fish design IS very pretty & I do not find it to be of poor quality material as a different reviewer claimed, thus my generous 3 stars. But if a functioning kusari doi is what you're after...stick w/ lotus or anchor chain type designs. There may be other designs that work well & this is not one of them, speaking only of designs I have seen in ACTION. ~Wish I had extra money laying around to get a functioning chain. Even if I could return this one after a year, to me, it is more trouble than it's worth. Moral is, Read reviews before purchase folks! Aloha, J
