In storage for 4 years!
By Kindle Customer on Reviewed in the United States on June 1, 2022
I bought this refurbished bread maker four years ago as it appeared that my15ish year old Breadman machine was dying. The startup of the Breadman became intermittent but it does eventually turn on so I just put this machine in storage. I just bought a second house so decided to give it a try and it works great. When I got it, I didn't really take a close look at it, just stuck it in storage as a backup. I did verify that all of the parts were included and that it turned on when plugged in. I did not notice until I actually started using it that there was a small ding in the basket, like something pointed had hit it. Other than that, it looks new. I have made a few loafs, now, and it works fine. I did discover that if I make a second loaf after the first loaf finishes, it affects the density of the second loaf and the finish of the crust which becomes smooth and shiny. Still made a decent loaf, just not as fluffy as the first loaf. The loaf size is about 2/3 as long as my old Breadman machine makes but it does great job of making a generic whole wheat loaf, which is my main use for it. Even though the loaf is small, it is shaped like a normal loaf, which is not true for many bread machines. It does take longer to bake a loaf than in my Breadman, but being retired makes that a non-issue. The smaller loaf means it has only one paddle which is easily removed to a avoid it sticking in the loaf, which is not true for my Breadman. Giving this machine a thumbs up. Will update at some milestones, 25, 50, 100 loaves. No idea how many loaves my Breadman has made.....

A great machine if you could just get rid of that ANNOYING LOUD SHRILL BEEP!
By Barbara smith on Reviewed in the United States on September 21, 2016
It makes a good loaf of bread but OH MY LORD THE BEEPING! It would wake the dead. Don't try to set the bread maker for an early morning loaf of bread unless you can separate it from the rest of the house by quite a distance and many closed doors. Why? Some "genius" decided one or two soft discreet beeps indicating steps in the breadmaking process just was not dramatic enough. Oh no. You will get long series of loud, shrill beeps. If I could figure out a way to stop the beeping so I could make bread for the morning, I would definitely give the machine five stars. Every loaf has been excellent. So, if the extremely loud beeping does not annoy you, consider the product to have five stars from me. Be forewarned though! (ACK!! There it goes again.( I count eighteen, yes. Eighteen beeps. Isn't that a bit much?)
