Thornton's Art Supply Colored Pencils

They give a wide range of values depending on the amount of pressure applied. They are lasting; you can cover are large surface without having to sharpen the coloured pencils. They are soft enough to prevent you from having to use excessive pressure to apply as well as they are hard enough to leave you with a level of control to create details and apply the colour where you intend it to be applied. The amount of crayon in the pencil is a lot; the diameter of the crayon at the unsharpen end is big. This is value for my money. The colours are great and the colours blend well.
