Good dehydrator if not a "pro grade" one
By Erik in MO on Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2025
I bought this dehydrator because it was cheap and would fit on my counter. So far it has been less cheap and far more of a good value. I have made jerky, drued spicy mango, dried my own herb mixes and made blackberry powder without issue. Dried apples with cinnamon are amazing. If your kitchen does not have GFCI outlets you should get them changed out. Most of the bad reviews (especially the fires that happened after the appliance "made a noise") are avoidable. I got some silicone mesh mats and cut them to size for drying small items and they work great. I do recommend this as a good first dehydrator. Just remember it takes time to dry fruits, vegetables and meat as well as proper prepping of the items to be dried. This is not a fast process but in 4-6 hrs you can have 4-5 apples dried out if they are 1/4" or thinner slices.

Not impressed.

Well, I've had this unit for a few months now and I have to tell you that I don't use it for dehydrating food. I am a model builder and I needed a dehydrator to quickly set paints and glues. I chose this one because it was highly rated AND on sale at that time. I have checked the temperatures with a calibrated thermometer and it does swing wildly across the set temp range. For instance, at 167F (the max) it can get as high as 196F and drop to around 145F. This is to be expected for a kitchen range oven but a dehydrator over a long period of time, it could be problematic. The readout on this thing is about the most basic sketch one I've ever seen. And I mean even $20 7" rpi screens are better programmed than this thing. Once you get past the quirkiness of it and scratching your head in puzzlement, it works. That's the best I can give it, but getting to the more exotic settings, ehhh good luck with that. And the most amazing thing is that you can't change from Farenheit to Celcius! Overall I probably could have gotten a better unit for 25% less than the sale price I bought this for, but I needed it ASAP and I felt it would be dishonest to return it after using it and fuming it with solvents, because I knew Amazon would turn right around and re-sell it to an unsuspecting customer. Would I buy another one? No, not after living with this one. It puzzles me how it has such a high rating here, to be honest.
