Restore heals the gut, slowly.
By annabella on Reviewed in the United States on March 23, 2021
I've had yeast problems for over a decade from too many antibiotics and a colonoscopy, because the stuff they give you to drink destroys the microbiome in the intestines. In the last 5 or so months, I had to take a weeks worth of antibiotics because of a UTI. And then I got Giardia from a relative's cats who had it [I scooped the litter box]. I was very, very sick with the Giardia, which is a parasite that imbeds itself into the intestinal wall. So because of that combo, my stomach and intestines were a war zone. I was nauseated alot and had no appetite and was losing weight, especially not good because I am thin. When I did eat, it made me more nauseated and my stomach would gurgle. In short, I began to heal myself by taking saccharomyces boulardii [jarrow brand] which gave me immediate relief from horrible stomach aches. Now I take 2 tablets of SB in the morning and evening and that pretty much eliminates my gas and discomfort. I also take enzymes with each meal, the Pure Synergy brand, which I find to be the best by far. I started doing the above, and taking Restore almost two weeks ago. I started taking the full 1 tsp. or Restore before each meal, but I think that was too much for me as I was feeling a bit odd. So I cut back to 1/2 tsp. before each meal and now things are going well. I also am taking 9-20 grams of collagen peptides each day to help heal the intestinal wall and leaky gut. I am starting to take a fiber supplement [yerba prima] mixed in water twice a day, and am eating oatmeal w/chia in the AM, and eating ground flaxseed. I'm not back to full health yet, as I was not eating right for over 2 months because I couldn't eat properly, my intestinal distress was so bad. But its only been 2 weeks and there is a significant improvement. My excema and itchy patches on my arm and head are starting to heal w/o me putting anything topical on them - [which didn't work anyway as I tried]. My BM's are also getting healthier. There is a scale called the Bristol Scale which has illustrations of the various types of BM's and what is healthy and what isn't. Why this scale isn't more widely known is beyond me. I found out about it from a review of Restore. I'm thrilled to say that mine are now in the healthy range. I will eventually move up to taking 1 tsp. of Restore before each meal. I think that the gut heals slowly and I know that I am on the right track. Restore is a key element to the above. I don't think that there is one thing that cures all, its got to be a combination of things, including lots of fiber and a basically healthy diet. I've been gluten free for about 5 years, so that was eliminated a long time ago, which I know has been beneficial to me. I wanted to share my experience with you so that it might help someone.

Warning- made me very ill
By C. Daivim on Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2020
I had been taking the product for about a week, usually only one dose a day, before I started having problems. Then one night, I woke in the middle of the night with painful abdominal cramps. This lasted about an hour before I was finally able to go back to sleep. When I woke that morning, the cramps were still present and I felt that I needed to have a bowel movement. I experienced a very hard stool, extremely painful and difficult to pass, and was only able to achieve a partial elimination. I increased my fibre intake throughout the day hoping it would help, all whilst having the pain and cramping continue all day. Finally that evening I was able to make a full elimination, and figured finally I would start feeling better. No. I continued having pain and cramping, and then suddenly found myself running back to the bathroom with a severe episode of diarrhea. I had three or four more episodes of this diarrhea until it finally calmed down. The next few days my gut felt very irritated and crampy so I stayed with a very mild diet like soups, bananas, quinoa, applesauce, etc. I gradually started to feel better over the next three days, and by the fourth day I thought I was totally recovered. I wasn’t having any abdominal symptoms and my energy was back to normal, so I ate my first normal full meal, which just consisted of a salad and some chicken. Within an hour after eating that, I was back in the bathroom with what seemed like the worst episode of diarrhea I’ve ever had in my life. Probably 10 or more episodes. I was seriously considering going to hospital, I was thinking I don’t know how I’m going to stay alive after losing so much fluid. The next day I was so weak I could barely get out of bed. I had to stay in bed for the next three days sipping electrolyte drinks to try to get my strength back. And I still don’t feel back to normal. I’m eating only small portions of soft or liquid foods and still having a lot of gas, and sometimes cramping. I’m literally afraid to eat a normal meal at this point. I’m seeing a doctor in a few days, but the only thing I changed/ added to my diet before this started happening was the Restore. I read the reviews before I purchased, and I did notice the few bad ones, but it seemed like most of them were positive, so I was certain that it was probably rare to have a bad experience and figured that the people who did probably just had a pre-existing condition. I was in good health with only some occasional mild IBS symptoms, so I figured it would help me. But no. No, it made me 100 times worse. Be careful if you use this product, the symptoms can appear suddenly and drastically.
