Please DO NOT Read this review!

I typically don't write reviews, but you know when you find the perfect product and everyone finds out about it and suddenly it changes? Because you told everyone it got too popular and they change something and it is no longer perfect? For that reason alone, I politely request that you stop reading this review right now. Thank you. Now: This is my third Xtava product. I have the best hair dryer I have ever found and the collapsing diffuser so I had to try the wand. Nothing else I bought was holding curl at all or was too hot and awkward for my non-professional hands to do with a heat glove on. So I ordered this set, the 5 wands being more than I needed, but it was Xtava and it was a very competitive price. I was sure I'd be fine. It came today. Xtava has the most incredible presentations of their products. You feel like you are getting a top dollar professional TOOL in a heavy very reuseable box with a bag to hold all the wands. There is no temperature control in the model I purchased. There is also NO cool tip on the end and you must use gloves if you require two hands. I looked at the different barrels and tried the 1", the same size as my professional quality iron I already have. I thought that was silly, I already have this. I was mistaken. I attached the wand which had a thumb bar to hold the hair in place, the thing that I thought was what was the reason I could never get my hair professional looking. I didn't have the dexterity. I was wrong. No temperature control and I forgot to wear a glove on the first curl. After several choice words, I remedied the situation and went after it. I took 1" sections and curled them in alternating directions. My hair is longer and very processed on top and almost virgin outside of the highlight cone from the crown to your ears. I did use Senastien reshaper as I went and truly after the second curl my experience was appearing very different and I was getting very excited. My hair was curling beautifully and had that structure that pros get so much better than I. I did my entire head the same way and sprayed each section again before I moved on to the next. Since I have a ton of hair, usually by the time I get done the first curls have already fallen. This time they looked like when I had just done them. It's now an hour later and it's holding like when I go to the beauty shop (at my wedding....) or use a flat-iron (behavior modification for hair). This is a perfect product so far. So don't buy it! Xtava might not get more successful for doing so well, the wand will never ever change. Then possibly my perfect wand will be safe. But I'm lousy with secrets and OMG this wand is amazing! Now why can't they just make purses?

Good curling iron, needs a few changes...
By Marie on Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2017
I'm going to try and give a very in-depth review of this curling iron, because I feel it's a good product, but it does need what I would call some "comfort tweaking"... It works great for curling my hair. My hair does not feel dried out or damaged when I use it, and it does give me nice curls. I love the temperature control setting, which allows you to choose the temp that's best for the texture of your hair. I also like that it has interchangeable size barrels.., What I don't like is that there is no cool tip to hold onto. I'm beginning to get used to that, but now I'm finding another very uncomfortable issue; the handle of the iron, near the top third of the handle, gets very hot....I mean to the point where it burns you, and you're forced to move your hand down the handle! However, when you move your hand down the handle, you now come in contact with the control/heat buttons, which will inadvertently change temp on you due to your hand accidentally pressing on them. I find this especially annoying when I'm trying to curl the back of my head, and I can't see back there that well, and I can't move my hand around too much for fear of dropping the curling out of my hand and burning the back of my neck! I'm going to add some pics and circle the areas I'm referring to. I don't want to return this iron. I do like the way it curls my hair, but I hope the manufacturer takes some of these suggestions into consideration and does some "revamping and improvements" on their updated model. Also, I just want to add that they do include a heat glove. I don't find the glove useful when I'm trying to grab pieces of my hair, and the heat definitely goes right through the glove.
