Amazing wok

I bought this wok 3.5 years ago, but I had to come back and write a review because it has become one of my favorite pieces of cookware and a truly prized posession. The cast iron is a great material for the wok because it conducts heat so well, so the sides of the wok get hot, giving you more surface area for cooking and helping keep food warm even once you turn off the heat. Being cast iron, this wok is not lightweight, but I don't find it excessively heavy either. This wok holds a very large volume of food- this was the initial reason I purchased it, as my largest saute pan was not big enough for the meals I wanted to cook. So far, there has not been anything I wanted to cook that this wok didn't have the volume to hold. It's extremely versatile- I saute vegetables in it all the time, and have made a wide variety of recipes incluiding lo mein, chicken tikka masala, and chicken fajitas. The wok came pre-seasoned, but over time I have built up more layers of seasoning. At this point, it truly cooks like an almost non-stick. When I bought this, it was also much cheaper than the conventional wok options available on amazon, although I'm not sure how much prices have changed since then. I cannot recommend this wok highly enough, it is a staple in my kitchen and I know it will continue to be for years/decades to come!

I bought to see if the slightly larger base would distribute heat better than my Lodge. Unfortunately, the base arrived slightly warped, meaning it would not sit flat on a surface, but instead wobble back and forth. I emailed Bruntmor customer service with the appropriate pics, but never received a response. Amazon did however give me a refund. Here is what I thought is 'good' about it: The handles are not at a 90 degree angle, giving you extra space to maneuver things around on the stovetop. It is lighter weight than the Lodge. Here is what is 'ok': For an Enameled Cast Iron Wok under $100, do not expect perfection. There are ripples in the finish. I never had the chance to try and see if either the flat heating surface was any more or less effective at heat distribution than the Lodge. Also, I don't know how the flat bottom of the cooking surface would do either. Overall, it would have been nice to keep in my arsenal, but their total disregard for a customer is unacceptable. I want what I pay for.
