Sharp, Clean, Functional

I installed this on a brick exterior wall using mason screws (not included) and it works fantastic. There has been no weathering whatsoever, and it feels sturdy to use. The covers for the screws really give it a clean look. The screwdriver included is also pretty nice for being "free"!

Poor design, and Only Partially Stainless Steel Construction...
By Amazon Customer on Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2017
I don't "hate" this rack. I received it promptly. When I looked at the back of the rack, the screws that secure the CAST METAL, not stainless steel, hooks to the stainless steel mounting strip protruded past the back of the strip - the mounting strip will not sit flush against a flat surface. If you mounted this to a surface, such as the edge of a barbecue grill, where food could spill it would be virtually impossible to clean behind it. The rack does not sit flat. When the rack is fastened to a surface the fasteners pull the sections of the strip between the first and second hook, and fourth and fifth holes tight to a surface, but the center / third hook will protrude out slightly and not lay flat. A better design would have had the securing holes at the outer edges. The mounting strip could bend outward if something snagged an outer hook and pulled on it. The word stainless is used to describe the construction - the hooks are not stainless but cast metal. The mounting strip is stainless, but it's the hooks that support loads. Cave Tools did send me an email about their wonderful rack and reminded me about their barbecue recipes. I purchased a rack, not a cookbook. My grill did not come with tool hooks; that's why I purchased this. Using the included screw driver, I removed the hooks from the mounting strip, and used the strip as a template for drilling holes into the side of my grill's side table. Then, I mounted each hook - each is secured with two screws - onto my grill directly. The spacing is perfect, and there's no gap between the hooks and the side of my grill. If you look at my photos, the mounting strip will appear warped - that's how it was received. This rack isn't wide enough to hang coats from unless they're lightweight. It's not wide enough to hang pots from unless you don't mind them hitting each other. The first intended usage for this rack is "BBQ", and it's interesting to note that this can be hung "near" a grill, and their photo shows it installed onto what looks like a wooden fence. Great if you have a wooden fence, or stationary wall near your grill, and not so great if you don't. I would only recommend purchasing this if you don't care about being able to clean the cavity behind the mounting strip this leaves when it's mounted, or you do what I do and remove the hooks and use the mounting strip as a template. Cave Tools states in their sent email that they want customer feedback; they got mine, and as of yet I haven't heard back from them. Poor design - what were their engineers thinking? A suggestion - don't buy ANY rack unless you can see a photo of the back. I gave this one star because I was able to use the hooks, and 1/2 a star isn't offered...
