Teflon flakes away

The airfryer does a good job cooking food. The problem is the teflon coating on the basket is very thin and flakes away with minimal use. After the first use I noticed the problem and called Nutrichef about it. I received a new basket but the same issue started to occur one month later despite using once a twice a week. Also, knowing how fragile the teflon coating is I used hot water and a sponge to clean it up yet it still happend.
