This portable, zip closet i've been using for almost 2 months has been a great experience. I have the Blue version. First off, i'd like to say how excellent the packaging was. The box itself was in excellent condition and the parts were neatly packaged inside. I initially bought this because i had a drawer in my open built-in closet in my room, and i wanted to put this portable closet elsewhere in my room, but then my room became super crowded so, i decided to remove my drawer from my built-in closet and place my portable closet in my built-in closet. I know that sounds kind of weird, but currently, my built-in closet has no door and i don't want to leave my clothes hanging out in the open. This portable closet is the perfect solution as it not only covers my clothes, but i can also arrange it if i have to. With my measurements, the closet measured to be, 63.5"x19.2"x35.2" The installation process was super easy. It took me about 30 minutes to install the closet. It would have taken me much less if i had inserted the closet sleeve at the right step (lol)---other than that, it was very simple. Plus, the instruction manual was nicely presented. Once the closet was installed, i was honestly surprised with the weight of it, I know the frame and sleeve is pretty light and i had no clothes in it, but i was still amazed with how easy it was to move the closet around. Right now, i have 41 active hangers stored in my closet and i still have plenty of space left for more. Most of it consist of standard t-shirts, a few jackets and a couple hoodies. The rest are a little of dress pants and dress shirts. Underneath my clothes, i have enough space to store my small laundry basket and laundry bag. I don't have a lot of long clothes. The longest clothing i have is a jacket that hangs about 15" from the rod. With that, i have no problems with it touching my laundry basket that sits underneath. I store miscellaneous items on top of this closet. The closet is sturdy enough for my items not to sink down too deep. The quality of this closet is amazing. The zippers (2) flow through really good. It feels smooth when zipping/unzipping and it doesn't get jammed. The window on the top that is a material of a mixture of plastic + rubber is great. It is not 100% transparent which is good for privacy. The sleeve of the closet holds up pretty well. I don't have any damages yet. Like i mention before, i have items laying on top of the closet, and it still keeps its quality. PROS: - Sturdy - Light (easy to move) - Can fit about 50 hangers - Has a lot of storage after clothes are stored - Quality is excellent CONS: - None I am glad that i decided to purchase this item. Since my built-in closet had no door, i was forced to have my clothes out in the open. That allowed my clothes to get dirty easy and smell more. Also, it made my room look messy. Now with this closet, I can finally store my clothes properly and have it protected. Even this is considered more of a smaller closet, I was satisfied with the quality and the portability. If you're a person who does a lot of different arrangements, or is constantly switching rooms, this closet is a good companion to your clothes. For a compact portable closet, this has been beyond my expectations.

Great big hunk of junk

Purchased 2 years ago for my son who doesn’t have a proper bedroom closet. Of course being a teenager he never bothered to put it together. I came across it when cleaning today so decided to put it together myself. What a load of junk. Plastic pieces that don’t fit right together. Once you get the bottom half together you have to pull the fabric enclosure partially over, then put the top half together- again more plastic pieces that don’t fit together well. Ok get that done then have to try to maneuver it so it can fit into the top half. Well that’s the fun part because it is impossible to do without tearing the plastic & fabric. The fabric portion is made of a mixture of clear plastic and cheap felt, and it’s more long enough or wide enough to fit the height of the plastic frame so the two front top corners and one of the back top corners ends up tearing…and once that’s finally done - tears and all, try to zipper it - good luck! Both zippers broke off immediately. I wish my son or I would have put this together when I first purchased it, I would have been able to return the piece of garbage then at least

Wish i could have bought just a dust cover

Bought this to replace the 20-year-old "closet" I've been using in my garage--the only thing wrong with it was that the dust cover started deteriorating, and i didn't see where i could buy just a dust cover. My wife had assembled it such that the base was *inside* the cover, making it easy to transport. Enter Whitmor. Assembled the "right way," be carefull about moving as the top part of the vertical supports easily come off the bottom; i used a little packing tape to address this. I kept the cardboard that was in the bottom of the older unit, because this one didn't include it. The zipper is awkwardly placed, because i have to reach up past the fabric to "feel" for where the black clothes rod is inside the dark blue cover. And, yes, it is dark inside--I'll have to make sure my blues are arranged on the opposite side of the unit from my blacks. This one is a little taller, which means I'll have to reach up higher to stow my clothes, which would be good for dresses, i suppose, but i have none of those.
Great buy, Awsome, love it....

I bought this for a backup closet due to not having enough closet space in my tiny studio apartment. I have to admit that it's way better than I anticipated. The setting up was very easy, it took me less than twenty minutes for completed setup. The closet is firm, and surprisingly, it hold lot more than I image. I hanged alot of clothing mainly summer stuff, I also stored a organizer on top with comforter, two king size pillows, and a mattress cover. I also have few things in the bottom inside. Not sure how long it going to last but I think this is a great buy for a portable closet. I will advice don't over do it, and also make sure to lean it against some kind of object or a wall, this way, it stand still. Advice: don't put too much stuff in the bottom of closet, this will prevent the zipper from closing all the way. I have my closet over two weeks now and so far it's doing great, very firm, and no problem. Also the shipping was great, my package came within the next day from I order.. in was very pleased with that. Also the instructions for the setup was pretty good and easily comprehend. Hope this help. I will also give my future updates. Update there months: Wow very surprised... this closet still going strong, no problem whatsoever... It is around 75% sturdy, it mush sturdier if put in corner of a wall with bins or containers next to it. I also thing if it's not over crowded with clothing it will hold up extremely sturdy. I have alot of clothing in, bags in the bottom, and a Hugh organizing bag with comforters in it. It's pretty loaded and it still standing firm. Great buy for the price. Definitely recommend to a friend.

I bought this to store my clothes because my roommates are smokers and I hate the smoke smell. It has worked flawlessly to help keep the smoke away, and give me some extra storage space. It was easy to install and has been exceptionally sturdy since! This was my first time buying furniture on Amazon but I'm pleasantly surprised at how nice it is. I shopped around heavily and this was the best price for a covered closet. Definitely recommend! Update 2025: Just under a year old but this is hanging in there! It's still sturdy. Hasn't become wobbly or anything of that nature. Zipper works perfectly. Definitely happy with this!

The Positives: Wasn't too difficult to assemble. No tools necessary to put together but I would suggest having a rubber mallet if you need additional strength from using your hand to fit some of the pieces better. Pairs well with the Amazon Basics Collapsable Fabric Storage Cubes in the 10.5" x 10.5" x 11" size to put on the shelves of the unit. The hanger rods are able to support the weight of 2-3 of my heavier leather motorcycle jackets without issue along with my other shirts. The Negatives: I wear size XL Mens shirts and they are a little too long by a good 2+ inches and do not completely suspend after hanging them on the rods. But there is at least a wire tray underneath each section. Especially when using the bottom hanger rod, to keep my shirts from completely touching the floor. (The height between the top of hanger rod to the wire shelf below it, for each section, is 32.5 inches). Men's medium size shirts and smaller such as ladies smaller shirt sizes, youth, and children will be fine. That or if you don't mind the bottom part of your shirts bunching up and gathering or having some of it touching the floor (when using the lower hanger rod). The cover going over the top portion of the unit is extremely tight and at one point during the installation I thought I was going to end up ripping the seams because it was so tight. It's been about 8 months and so far, nothing has torn. The wire shelves are not the best quality. One of the wires, originally soldered on, disconnected but I am still able to use the shelf. I wouldn't suggest putting anything heavier than 2-3 lbs on each of the shelves. With all that said, for $80.00 it handles what I need it to do. 3.5 Stars
