This is my favorite dehydrator! I have four different brands, and this is the best. The best thing about it is that the fan is in the back: not on top or on bottom. This really helps in all layers dehydrating at the same rate. The NutriChef is faster than the others I have, so check more often until you are used to its speed. My first venison jerky turned out to be "venison chips" it was so crispy...still good though!

I wish I had read up on temps more before i got this, I would have gotten one that handled 165 degrees. My main complaint about this unit are the shelves - thin, clear plastic and they have very large openings - impossible to use meats like liver or lung unless they are frozen solid. It's not a unit that I could recommend or that I would purchase again.
