Superior Memory Foam Wedge Pillow

I like this pillow very much. It is nice and soft, but firm enough that you don't just squish down. I wish the cover didn't look so much like a mattress, but more like a pillowcase. I may end up sewing one of my own that isn't white. It isn't small. It is two feet wide so it doesn't really fit on a couch well (I thought it would be nice there for reading.) It does work, but it reaches past the edge of the couch. The bottom is angled so when it sits, the pointy part of the triangle (sorry, geometry people!) sits straight up, perfect for leaning against a headboard of a bed. It doesn't really stay up without anything in the back, so don't plan on it sitting there on the floor to lean on without something supporting it from behind. I think from (my imprecise) measurements the angle of reclining flat is about 27 degrees and sitting up it is about 67. I don't know if that matters, but it is closer to lying flat than sitting up straight when you have it lying down. (45 degrees would be halfway.) And the back (short edge of the triangle) isn't angled enough that flipping it over gives you much of a different angle. So it really seems to have two positions, sitting up and lying down. I do find myself putting another pillow under my head to lie and read on it, but that is my preference. My son likes flat on the floor for watching movies. My goofy cat loves to sleep on, too and she only begrudgingly moves when I lift her off. They should make mini ones like this for pets! She does seem to like the angle because she doesn't sleep on my regular memory foam pillow! The only thing I didn't like was opening it. It comes in a very nice, duffle-shaped zipper bag. It is compressed in there to make it easy to ship and carry. Except the zipper on the bag in on the end. I had a heck of a time peeling off the bag from the wanting-to-puff-up pillow.. I felt like I was trying to squeeze off a much much much too tight bathing suit! I think it took me like 5 minutes to get it out.You have to peel a little, spin it, peel a little, spin it, etc. etc. Mine did not just slide right out. If you have trouble with your fingers, just sacrifice the bag carefully with scissors. You aren't ever gonna get this thing back in it anyway (and let's face it, you will probably never use that bag again anyway! ha ha!! I am a saver so I got mine out..so I understand not wanting to cut it.) It would be much easier if the zipper on the bag went horizontally across it rather than around the top circle. Pillow is awesome...unpacking it is a little harder. EDIT: I didn't like that the only included cover was white, like a mattress pad. I wanted a pillowcase for it, but didn't know what what fit, so I just used some leftover material I had and made one. It is nicer to look at now, and the case can zip off to clean (I left the white one underneath because it had a nice texture.) I also added a handle to the case so I can move it around much easier with one hand. I attached a photo so you can see it. It is pretty simple. I almost put on something satiny so it would be cool, but I worried I would keep sliding down off of it! ha ha!! So I picked something with a little texture. Someone with better skills and lots of time could make it prettier with welting or something.
