UPDATED: After 2 years, still a great topper

I waited until I had slept on this topper for a bit before posting a review. First, it was and still is a little over 4 inches thick. I measured with a ruler when I first got it two months ago and again today. It is VERY comfortable! It is on the soft side, but not too soft for me because my firm mattress is beneath it. I had read in another review that if you're a large person, you may still have some pressure points, and though I am definitely a large person, I have no problems with this. The only issue I have is that it takes some finagling to figure out the most comfortable way to sit on it if you, like I, do a lot of things on your bed. I live in a studio apartment, so my bed is not just my bed -- it's also my desk and my dining table and my sofa. The most important part, though, is that my back pain is gone. I had another topper, a 2-inch gel/foam thing, that rid me of my lower back pain for a while, but after five months I started hurting again. I'm thinking this one might do better. It just feels more durable than the other one did. Well worth the price, imo. Someday I'll spend $1,000 on a bed, but until I at a point to do that, this topper is more than adequate. UPDATED: I got this topper 15 months ago. It’s still comfy, hasn’t flattened and have given me a lot of extra time with my crappy old mattress. Don’t plan on buying another topper or mattress for quite a while yet. UPDATED AGAIN: It’s been almost 2 years at this point, & this topper has give my crappy IKEA mattress a lot of extra life. Still super comfy, still no back pain. VERY swell worth it.

Improved sleep, but taller than needed and only 1.5in of good memory foam

I have had this mattress topper for the last couple months and it definitely has its alright. My girlfriend and I were sleeping on ~$800 standard bed with about 1 inch of padding on top. Overall was pretty comfortable, but we both were experiencing some shoulder aching after about a year on it. I decided we should grab a new topper to try and help out. Ideally a memory foam one. Ended up with this mattress topper and the way it was shipped was fine and it wasn't super heavy or anything which was good. The lining that goes around the topper is really nice and soft. The biggest thing we were surprised by was how ridiculously tall it was. We definitely did not need a 4 inch topper, but it was decently comfortable and I didn't know how I would ship it back anyways after it had expanded from its vacuum seal. Only about 1.5inches of the topper is actually made of good quality memory foam and the other 2.5 inches are made of a cheaper, less dense foam that is a little more fluffy to give it the extra height. Was definitely disappointed in that aspect. Overall the mattress has a lot of squish to it which we definitely didn't need and I would have preferred 2 inches of actual memory foam and getting rid of the rest. I do occasionally experience a pretty tight back in the morning which quickly goes away. I think it is caused by the way I slept before the topper and I am still training myself to sleep differently, but ultimately better.
