American Lifetime XL Day Clock

Purchased this for a senior who was in and out of care settings - including those for seniors - most of which didn't have clocks in viewable locations - or even large enough to see. What I liked was the large numerals. I wish I could have found a clock that had pictures as well as the numbers. It's nice that the clock spells out "morning," etc. For space, I'd rather they have sun or moon that AM/PM. I'd watched a review that said this was easy set up. Set up was wonky. You have to keep flipping the clock from front to back to set it up. Also, the labels for the set up buttons on the back of the clock are engraved into the plastic. The white on white is hard to read. This could especially be a barrier for people who have vision issues. You only have seconds to set the time or other features. Flipping the clock from front to back to do so is annoying. It's also noisy. I tried setting this up from a rehab room for a senior who was recovering from a hospital stay. I couldn't get it switched from AM to PM and I worked on it so long that it was unsettling for the recipient. I ended up setting it up another day. I did not use alarm features. One of the reviews I saw said that delivery would announce clock has arrived and specifically that it would not say "dementia clock has arrived." However, when it was delivered, Alexa announced "dementia clock has arrived." If the recipient lives with you and you're concerned about them hearing this, it's best to turn off those announcements until you have this delivered. Though I purchased it for someone who did not live with me, I know there could be sensitivities to this. Prop to stand up on a nightstand or table was very flimsy. Though there is a way to clock to the wall, you have plug the the connector cord into the back of the clock, which interferes with the ability to hang the clock straight onto the wall. Also, the plug is not long. You'll likely need an extension cord. Bottom line is that at least the recipient could read the time. For the price, this clock needs improvements. I bought the 10 inch clock.
