Nice improvements from the Cameo 2
By A Smith on Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2017
This was offered as a deal of the day and I "had" to have it dispite having a Cameo 2 already. The autoblade setting is a timesaver and the dual tool holder is awesome even though it took me awhile to learn how to do two tasks at once. This machine is a lot quieter than the Cameo 2 which is a plus. The storage compartments are handy too for frequently use tools. The sketch lens make addressing things in fun fonts a breeze. I have a blast with this machine.

I hate it.

I hate it.... I hate to even write this review since I started my small business with the original cameo which has been a trooper these last few years, cutting for hours a day, everyday. This machine is pretty, but so many cutting glitches and bugs. I also updated the software with this machine. Absolutely awful. I spend so many times, starting and re-starting, the machine and the software, at this point I'm actually losing money because the machine and software will not work properly. Can't tell you how many times the machine has stopped mid cutting or cut a full line from lower right hand corner, to upper left hand corner. I am going back to my old cameo until I can upgrade to a professional cutter.... Very disappointed.

I have just now started to use this, but I like the format and the program is pretty straight forward. I love that the screen inside the machine actually gives you a tutorial. Also, this was a great deal with all the add ons that it came with.

Love, love, love my Cameo. I was a little afraid of the 3rd model since I've heard it's buggy, but knock on wood, I haven't had an issue yet. I just mastered the print & cut. There are a lot of Facebook groups that truly help me get a hang of the thing. Set up took a while as it didn't want to read the registration marks on my paper, but I think maybe the blade wasn't pressed all the way down. So, make sure everything is installed properly before getting to it! There are just so many possibilities. I bought the starter kit for vinyl, so I am excited to try that. I haven't used the markers yet, but they look pretty simple to master. The software it comes with is pretty simple to install. I watched a few Youtube videos to get a hang of it, but everything seems pretty straight forward once you read through the different tabs. This machine is full of crafting possibilities.
Great Product, but got wrong vinyl colors than advertised

A hobby cutter with commercial abilities

My wife has had every generation of Silhouette Cameo since they first came out. This one did NOT disappoint. She has used the Silhouettes in our small business and although they are only hobby vinyl cutters they have performed like commercial cutters. This is her third one and the other two have been handed down to our daughters and they are still working. I only wish they would come out with a 24 inch cutter that uses the Silhouette Cameo software. My wife would be in heaven.

Bluetooth hasn’t worked since the day I purchased it... only difference in this and the cameo 2 is the automatic blade. I wouldn’t upgrade for the Bluetooth because that’s what I did and it doesn’t work.
Love!!!!

I love my silhouette cameo! A bit of a learning curve, but there are a plethora of tutorial videos on YouTube. I have used it so much already! From teacher gifts, to home decor, to party decorations, I am definitely getting use out of it! The value of this bundle is great as well.
Love the machine but hate the silhouette vinyl that came ...

Love the machine but hate the silhouette vinyl that came with it. After doing a couple projects with different brands, the silhouette brand of vinyl has been the absolute worst to work with, so frustrating to put so much time into a project and cut out/weed the vinyl just to have issue after issue and being unable to finish the project until you recut with a different brand.
It was a learning curve but ultimately I love the automatic blade and how large I can cut

I used the Silhouette SD since 2010 and finally upgraded. It was a learning curve but ultimately I love the automatic blade and how large I can cut. I never use the Bluetooth feature. If you're just getting started, for permanent vinyl you want Oracal 651, Siser Easyweed for iron on, both are great standard brands. Around 60 cents a square foot is a good price for 651, $2.50-$3 for 12x15" Siser is good. Check the Silhouette Cameo Project Inspiration Facebook community for all of your questions and fantastic ideas.
