This portable air conditioner works really well. It is much better than another store-bought brand that was purchased which did nothing to cool the the room, even when it was set to 62 degrees. It keeps my office cool, and it works so efficiently I sometimes have to shut it down (even at 70 degrees) for a short while. It is a bit loud, but no more than any others I've had. I have my air conditioner on a table in the corner of my office, because that's the only space near the window for the exhaust. I have attached a 5/8 diameter tube to the drain hole so it can drain outside the window. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a decent portable air conditioner that works well. It's a little costly compared to others, but well worth it!

Pre-opened box. Super Noisy and falling apart

This was obviously a unit that had been serviced before. Part of the panels have large gaps (where they should be seamless). When I say "noise" I don't mean the usual wooshing sound of air movement or the standard noise of compressors. There's an extremely loud rattling sound. Which is probably related to the fact this unit was damaged and "fixed" before they sold it as a "new" unit. I know this is not natural because I bought a similar unit from Home Depo and that unit is doing great. Everything works, no noise, no weird gaps, no boxes with holes in them.
