Excellent TV Picture
By WATCHER on Reviewed in the United States on May 15, 2018
I bought this model in February and it is an excellent TV. No motion artifacts seen yet. Picture is SHARP, especially with 4K sources. I had trouble assembling the TV. The TV stand is poorly designed and cheaply made. I followed a YouTube video for assembly but almost ended up destroying the glass on my TV entertainment center when the TV stand, which was clipped onto the TV pending assembly to the TV by 3 screws, snapped the clip off on the TV and the TV stand base fell down and inward but I caught it just in time. I replaced the clip with electrician's tape but once I screwed the TV stand to the TV (3 screws), I didn't really need it. The screws have to be tightened almost to the point of stripping them. Otherwise, the TV screen dips laterally to one side or another. This TV can be wall mounted as well, if you so choose. I had some problems with the Smart Hub, where the YouTube app did not work, but a couple of firmware updates solved that. I could still use YouTube because this Smart Hub comes with an Internet app. It uses the Tizen web browser but it's loaded into firmware, not software, so it's harder to attack and gives you a 2nd method for going to YouTube and other apps on the Smart Hub. I purchased a GANA RCA to HDMI converter which allows me to connect my Panasonic VHS recorder/player to my 4K TV. This converter will upscale VHS to either 720p or 1080p but I chose the 720p and the image is pretty good. The 4K TV also upscales. I could not believe that this could be done but it works. I get to keep using VHS tapes that have no DVD/BD or 720p/HD streaming options. There are plenty of movie titles and shows that I taped that you cannot get today on other media. Sad, but I have been granted an extension with this converter. I researched for a Wi-Fi keyboard for this 4K TV and finally found one that is acceptable to use. It is the Rii K16(2018 model) dual-mode(Bluetooth/Wi-Fi). It will not work with the YouTube app in Smart Hub but going into the Internet app and going to YouTube from there allows me to type in search terms instead of using the Samsung TV remote which is too slow and frustrating. It takes a while to get used to but it works fine on the 4K TV and I tested it, using Bluetooth mode, on a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 cellphone. It worked fine on there. You can type long emails or texts easy with the keyboard. Netflix also has an archaic-type search function but this keyboard worked fine with it. Where it did not work was on an old Panasonic plasma TV about 6 years old. It needs more current hardware to work. Not all buttons work as intended on my 4K TV and different hardware will affect which buttons will work. It surely beats using a TV remote and an on-screen keyboard. This keyboard is well made but pricey. With hardware, you get what you pay for. This is an excellent keyboard that can be used on cellphones, tablets, laptops, or PCs.

Poor Samsung quality control and customer service.
By A. Brown on Reviewed in the United States on May 22, 2018
I purchased a 75" MU9000 Series TV the end of February. It was shipped by Amazon and was delivered March 10, 2018. Less than six weeks after owning the TV, I noticed that the back plastic cover was separating from the panel and the separation was getting wider within a week. After some online research, I discovered that Samsung is aware that this problem existed with the previous KS8000 and KS9500 series but did nothing to correct the same problem with the TV I bought. I contacted Samsung and they requested pictures which I sent. They later scheduled a technician who came and assess the problem who determined he could not do the repair fearing he would damage the front panel. He explained that Samsung glued the back plastic cover with double sided tape to the front panel and in order to repair the problem, the entire front panel would have to be replaced. He took pictures and documented the problem, said he would send the request for the repair to Samsung and left. This is where Samsung's horrible customer service begins. After a week and no word from Samsung or the contracted repair company, I decided to call Samsung. The first rep I spoke with told me the repair is pending in their system but I should call the repair company for clarification. I thought that was rather strange so I questioned the rep why there was no definitive answer regarding the repair approval. I called the repair company and a rep told me that Samsung closed the ticket stating that the problem with back separating from the front panel is a "cosmetic issue" and Samsung will not do the repair. I was absolutely stunned by what I heard so I called back Samsung immediately. After spending approximately 2.5 hours on the phone, being transferred from one rep to a supervisor and from one level of so called support to another, they seemed to have been rehearsed to say the same thing, "it's a cosmetic issue." The last so called high level support super went further to say that it is a "damaged cosmetic issue" that is not covered under warranty and that I am responsible for the repair. I tried to argue that the "cosmetic issue" was not my doing but the result of poor quality control on Samsung's part. The supervisor became agitated stating he could do nothing else for me and hung up the phone leaving me baffled. Needless to say, I am very angry and disappointed with the callousness with which Samsung's reps dismissed a problem they created and threw the cost of repair on me.
