My daughter had the older model which was recalled apparently but she kept using it until it finally died. We thought we were going to have to go without but then I saw this on Amazon after 3 months of just getting by with our regular slow cooker. This cooker is SO much better. It salutes so you can brown things before you slow cook them. There are 5 settings on the slow cooker so you can pick how much time you want something to cook in and then it goes to a keep warm setting so it doesn't burn. It has a setting for white rice, brown rice, quinoa, oatmeal, yogurt and it's super easy to use. I tried an InstaPot and it intimidated me with all the time settings and rules. I've been cooking too long to learn new rules to make meals so this is perfection for me. We didn't buy just one.. we bought 4. One for me, one for my daughter, one for her boyfriend.. and a spare.
