Ovente Electric Tea Kettle, 1.7 Liter

This pot is FAST! I adore it! Probably the best purchase I've made all year (and last)! No lie... I am a tea person. Coffee too. I only use this in the event I need a rare late night instant coffee. Otherwise, I use it for tea. I drink many types of tea. Both hot and iced. I can boil just enough (about 4 cups of water) to make a strong tea base, then add an equivalent of ice, pour it all in a pitcher, and boom! A pitcher of iced tea! But what I usevthis for every day is making my personal warm tea. I like having a large insulated travel cup of warm tea to sip on all day. I have Indian Rose Garden, Moroccan Jasmine, Assam SF, or Earl Grey and add some honey. I am partial to the Tupolo honey from Smiley Honey. That has such an enormously wonderful flavor. As for Masala Chai, I haven't used this pot for that, since it's boiled with milk. I don't want to gum up the pot with the residue of boiled milk, so I still use a pan for that. But that Chai is best with Linden Honey/Tupolo Honey mixed. I always get all my teas from Firepot Nomadic Teas in TN. I learned of them through Bon Apetit magazine and their Teas are hands down, the best, most authentic and organically grown. I recommend both Smiley Honey and Firepot Chai very highly if you're a tea aficionado. And this pot makes it ALL happen... Easily, efficiently and fast. Now, I know I haven't said anything about the workings of the pot itself. Reason is that it works exactly as described in the sale description. It is quick, convenient and very easy to use. I wouldn't put it next to anything with a low flash point while boiling water because it does get hot on the outside of the pot. But the handle remains cool to the touch. You can add cold water back into the pot immediately after booking and emptying the pot, and go again. Mine popped a bit from expanding through heat and retracting in cold, but it hurt nothing. The pot remains working just as described. I especially like the varying heat temperatures and the different LED color display lights for the different temps. This is handy for steeping different teas. There is also a fine mesh strainer in the pour spout so if you wished to boil, say... spearmint tea, you could, then pour it right into your cup... Although I haven't chosen to do this yet since I have all different ways for making tea. I just heat & pour. It's perfect for hot cocoa too! I recommend this product highly!
