Great Monitor Stand. Highly Recommend!

Upon opening the box everything was nicely wrapped up and tight fitting helping prevent transport damage. Before assembly all of the pieces passed inspection. No dings, no chips, no color discolorations, no splinters and no cracks of any kind. All 12 screws and the tightening wrench were present...........Assembly was extremely easy (about 10 minutes). The grain color and wood grain was excellent and the entire stand is extremely well built and more than sturdy enough for any monitor you wish to put on it as long as your stand base is not too large for the upper shelf. The dimensions are as shown in the pics. Sitting on my desk top this riser does not wobble at all. Very solid ............Since I use a very flexible Ergotron arm for my laptop, I had no need for a 2nd level lap top storage shelf. Because my monitor is a 27" er, it would have been a little too tall for my line of sight had I installed the top shelf at its normal 6 1/4" height as shown.........So! I decided to just lower or collapse the top shelf right onto the top of the lap top shelf and there it stays. Doing that does not affect the sturdiness of this stand or affect the slotted pieces that the top shelf would normally be attached to. The slotted pieces are rock solid and do not move at all. If you do lower the top shelf to either rest on the laptop storage shelf or eliminate the upper shelf all together, then I would advise making sure that the 4 screws that attach the two slotted pieces from the bottom are tightly screwed in.......By lowering the top shelf my monitor has a gross height of 22.4" instead of what would have been a 25" gross height. The 2.6" height reduction is better on my neck, eyes and I have a better line of angle sight to the screen.............If you do get this stand and discover that your monitor is too high then do what I did. The top shelf fits tight as it should right on top of the lap top shelf.......TIP! And thinking outside the box...So why not make it a shelf that slides out a few inches if I need to get closer to the screen and then slide it back when done without moving the monitor base at all or moving my chair closer? Doing some sand papering on both sides made sliding the shelf in and out very easy. However, DO NOT bring the shelf out too far or your monitor will collapse forward on you...LOL...With proper positioning of your base and with the combined weight of your base and monitor no collapse will occur. I can slide the shelf out 4" to 5" and have no vertical in-stability, wiggling or sway issues with the monitor. Why not be creative by making the top shelf more useful......

Will Not Work For Everyone
By RetouchingAcademy on Reviewed in the United States on January 14, 2019
The stand itself looks beautiful, the assembly wasn't as difficult as some reviewers mentioned - I am a woman and I had put it together within 10-15 minutes. The biggest issue with the stand is that after it was set up, I worked at my desk for a couple of days and I got a major neck pain that I am still suffering from a week later. I did raise my chair up as much as the space under the desk allowed it, but I work on a 27" iMac, so the upper half of my screen is still higher than my eye level. I tried to be mindful of the position of my neck/head and place apps and browser windows in the bottom half of the monitor, but that's not really rational because now I am forced to use just a half of my large screen. What's the point of using a large screen if I can't use the whole screen? After a couple of days the neck pain not going away, I flipped the stand and sat my monitor on the bottom of the bottom shelf of the stand. It seemed to make things easier on my neck a little, but now the bolts are exposed, and I can't use the side storage space I really liked. And now that I've been using the stand upside down for a few days, the neck pain not only didn't go away, it's so painful, it's effecting my life. The reason why I gave the stand just 1 star, is because I want to warn future buyers that while the product itself is great, it may not work for you depending on your height, the height of your desk and your monitor and also how much time you spend at your desk. I hope it will help someone to avoid the physical pain I am in now just because I liked the look and convenience of this product.
