I love it so far! 'Red' version is Lithium powered.

I've been doing a home buzz cut for the past few years with a regular trimmer, which was fine. I can trim my hair every week or two and keep it looking pretty sharp. Last week I got a bug to look for something to make it a little easier. It seems like I would end up spending 30 minutes or more chasing after little patches I had missed. It would be great to reduce that time... I found this 'Rotary Hair Clipper' on Amazon and thought to myself, this looks like it will take my ear off. Further investigation revealed it's not actually 'rotary' in that it spins the blade, but shifts one of the cutter blades back in forth like a standard clipper. Rotary only seems to refer to the circular blade. The reviews here on Amazon are mixed. Along with the typical 'didn't read the instructions' complaints, it seems like a lot of the complaints are from people wanting a longer hair cut which is not what this is engineered to do. Also, many complaints from people wanting a crew cut but have long hair and go barreling into cutting their full 3" or more head of hair, which I don't believe this device is engineered to handle. I'm thinking weekly maintenance trims. What the heck, I'll bite. It will pay for itself if the device can complete two or three cuts for me. I'm not saying this product is life changing, but I just trimmed up in about 10 minutes time which is pretty awesome. Front to back motions across the scalp to get most of the hair, and then large circles with it until you stop hearing it cut hair. I of course can't say anything about the long term quality of it right now. It appears to maybe be ABS plastic, so don't drop it. The very large circular blade will probably need to be lubricated more than a standard cutter. (in my experience, less is more most of the time) The little trimmer is comes with is mostly garbage, but works and will get you started if you need one. I did not buy the red version for the hand trimmer, only for the rotary cutter's Lithium battery option. The trimmer uses two AA batteries.

Conair is not interested in supporting their customers

Purchased Conair model HC9900 (Conair Even Cut Rotary Hair Cut Cutting System; Red) September 9, 2020 for $95. The other model Conair makes is half the price. I chose this one because of the handle. My hands are arthritic and I felt the oval handle would be easier to hold. Yesterday I was using it and it slipped out of my hand and hit the sink countertop. The hair guide broke as seen by the attached photos. The instructions that came with the device had a customer service phone number that was a wrong number. I looked up the Conair customer service number on the internet and spoke with a lady that told me that since I dropped it, that there was nothing she could do. I told her that all I wanted to do is PURCHASE the hair guide that I broke. She said that they do not sell that part. And that if it was under warranty, they would replace the entire device. Then she hung up on me. I called back and spoke to a different customer service representative. She echoed the exact same thing. I told her that it makes no sense that a $10 part can’t be purchased. The guide is fragile and surely I am not the only person who has ever broken this part. She placed me on hold, supposedly to talk to someone. Literally after 10 seconds, she said that the part is not available. I paid $95 for a haircut device that is now worthless because the fragile little hair height guide is broken? I am mad as hell over this! I will never purchase anything from this crappy company again. I will warn as many people as I can to avoid Conair. Their name tells it all - CON JOB
