The reamer top gets a good bite on the fruit and is effective in removing the juice. The juice strainer in the top is effective in keeping large material out of the juice, and the well is large enough that you do not have to clean it of strained material with each fruit. The jar is large enough to hold the juice of several fruits before needing to be emptied, yet small enough to be easily stabilized by hand while in use. I did break the glass jar on my first one by dropping it on the floor. I am glad I found an identical replacement, and am tempted by buy several while I know where to get them.
