Still Evaluating...2/28/18 Update
By Dee on Reviewed in the United States on February 5, 2018
2/28 Update: Okay, so I've had this a month and passing the return date option. I love this PC. I've made a gazillion things in it (no rice yet, though), and they've all turned out great. No issues with the gasket after I changed it. I do notice that the sealing gasket is a teensy bit looser than another pressure cooker I have, and that I do need to ensure it's in place & not loosened when ready to use. But now that's a habit, and to my dog food regimen every week (includes cooking 9 lbs chicken pieces in 10 minutes pressure cook time!), I've made ribs, stews, veggies, roasts, hard boiled eggs, etc. Got me a couple IP cookbooks, and recipes super adaptable. Still hoping that Cosori sells parts a la carte soon. I've had this product for a week now, used about 6 times. Had a rough start. First couple times: steam escaping from all sides like a chimney. Wasn't coming to pressure. First time, I turned it off - unplugged it. Then turned it back on and re-started my program. Nothing more than that, and the unit worked. So, I'm a bit uneasy why it worked suddenly after steaming up the kitchen. When I attempted to use again, steam coming out from all sides again. I then changed the gasket, made sure of the fit, and tried again. Ever since, the unit has been working fine. I've made a pot full of sweet potatoes, 8 lbs of chicken, veggies, a dozen eggs hardboiled, and ribs. I was concerned that it took 22 minutes to come to pressure on the chicken, but the ribs only took 10 minutes. So, figured it could have been the density of the chicken. I make dog food every 10 days, so the chicken and veggies will give this a workout. Pros: When the unit works, it does a good job. The price is absolutely fantastic, and the accompanying accessories are nice. I especially like the steamer basket. Cons: - I'm concerned about the consistency of the product. The fact I didn't do anything but turn the unit off, then back on and it came to pressure (the first time) concerned me. Why would that happen? - Lack of accessories. As previous reviewers mentioned, there is no availability of parts (like an extra inner pot) for purchase. Makes me wonder how Cosori is supporting their product. - Why is Cosori only available for purchase on Amazon? Again, a bit concerned about continued support of this product. IP - more established - is available is several stores, and they do have available accessories for purchase. - The floater valve is very hard to see and never rises up beyond the crevice it's housed in. A bit confusing. - Not a fan of the lid (attached to the arm), but I knew about it when I purchased it. All in all, this product probably has a lot of potential. Everything I've cooked in it has turned out great. But I would like to see the Cons addressed. Hopefully, this thing lasts and provides good competition for IP. I purchased because of price being right, and videos posted online. I have a couple more weeks of testing, and hope it stays consistent. Would absolutely change this to a 5-star if the consistency and durability remains. Just hesitant, given the rocky start.

Works okay but has issues...
By Ellis in La. on Reviewed in the United States on September 10, 2018
This Cosori 8 qt. pressure cooker arrived quickly and without an obvious damage. However, after several uses I have discovered that the manual cook timer is way off. I have cooked BBQ ribs, buffalo wings in addition to two cheesecakes and with each one of these items, I've learned that the timer is very inaccurate. Each time after the pot reached pressure to begin the cooking process, the programmed time would be displayed but would count to zero much sooner than the actual time shown. This time difference would vary from 5 to 20 minutes depending on the time entered. Another problem is that each time I used the pot, it took at lease two attempts to get a proper seal before it would come up to pressure. The first time, I would get steam coming out around the top and it would not come up to pressure. Then I'd have cancel that program and re-seal it before starting it again. This happens even though I'm careful to get a proper seal on the first attempt. Maybe I received a defective product but with these issues, I have to say that I'm very disappointed with this cooker since I'm having to make the time adjustments and extra effort to get a proper seal. Update: After submitting my previous review I receiving an email from Etekcity seeking to rectify the problems I had with the cooker. They sent me a new one and though I haven't had time to put it through its full paces, I no longer have any of the previous issues mentioned. So far all of the functions seem to be working and I am pleased. Because of their excellent customer service (a rarity these days), I update my rating to four (4) stars and heartily recommend this cooker.
