I can now clean smarter not harder
By Courtney Mroch on Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2018
I saw this on an infomercial and came to check out the reviews on Amazon. It looked so easy on TV, but really? Could it be? What did people "really" think?I read all the reviews here and the one that sold me was someone saying how it good it worked on their wood floor and how much time it saved them. I HATE sweeping our wood floor. It's a pain. And it's dark wood so it shows the dirt fast. It really needs at least a once a day sweep. But the way I was doing it (sweep into piles then use the handheld vac to suck up the piles...often having to stop to empty the dust cup multiple times because it's so small) was really time consuming and didn't inspire me to want to do it. So I didn't.Being more efficient with my time was part of my New Year's goals. So I figured I'd give this a shot. OMG I wish I had seen that infomercial sooner and hadn't hesitated to go ahead and just fork out the dough for this so much sooner. My cleaning time is easily cut in half. Because not only can I do a quick vac pass on the wood floor, I can also do the carpets with a push of the button...all at the same time.I don't have cords to monkey with, don't have to move the coffee table (which is super heavy) out of the way anymore. This flexes and passes right under. We have 3 cats so I do have to stop and empty the dust cup, maybe even twice if I do carpets and wood at the same time. And I have found that for a quick clean up I don't have to sweep first, but for a deeper clean before mopping it's best to make my piles then suck them up with this vac, which still makes my job faster because I (a) don't have to bend over and (b) can suck it up all at once with only one emptying stop at the trash can. It's also more substantial than I was expecting. I had a Shark product years ago. It worked fine for a year then quit. I bought another and it died in about a year too. Or broke. But I remembered liking them, just that they felt kind of cheap and couldn't take my abuse. I switched to Ergorapidos which have lasted me for years now. (I have two, one upstairs and one down.)This vac however is much sturdier than the previous Shark products I'd owned. It is a little heavier than I was expecting too, BUT compared to my 25+ year old Royal? Less heavy, I don't have to worry about, "Is this the day the belt breaks and I have to spend 20 minutes wrestling with it?" (Which inevitably happens at THE worst time-crunched moments.) And NO MORE CHANGING FILTER BAGS! Omg trying to fit a new bag back on the hose...I've had 2+ decades worth of practice and I still have to fight with it every time.Nope. Not now. I never thought I'd be excited about vacuuming or cleaning my wood floors but now I'm looking for excuses to clean, all just so I can play with my new "toy. Even the stairs, which, let's face it, is even worse than sweeping wood floors in my cleaning book, but, "Why not go ahead and do them quick too?" is my new thought process. Which if I could insert the mind blown emoji here I would! My house hasn't been this clean in the 13 years we've lived here. So, yeah, this earns 5 stars from me and my hub for sure!

Rather dissapointed

The Flex2x will pick up small smooth rounded objects, but not small pieces from where my dog chewed up a plastic ball. It picked them up all right, but clogged at the handle. In addition, it takes some effort to release the base head to the sweeping position. You need to hold down the head with one foot, hold the top with one hand and push hard with your other hand to release the lever. The batteries are another story. It takes 3.5 hours to recharge (per the instruction manual). I did as instructed, fully charged the first battery, used it until empty. Went to recharge, as instructed in the manual, and had to wait for an hour for the battery to cool down enough to recharge. The batteries, as instructed, are to be stored with a partial charge only. Well, you need to plan a couple of hours in advance of using the sweeper, waiting for the battery to get a full charge. I wanted sweeping to be an easy process, not an event! The Great things: It is light and does fold down to be stored in a small space, easily. It is very easy to use as it doesn't have a cord to deal with and is super light. In sweeping, it out performed a Dyson, Bissell, and i-Roombot. It picked up ALL of the dog hair on the carpet (my dog is young and is shedding her baby coat) in a single pass, the others took several passes (rated from best to worse above). If you can deal with the batteries and the acrobatics to release the floor head, I would recommend the unit highly.
