Can't recommend this adjustable base highly enough! You will not regret purchasing!
By Eric E on Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2021
I was directed by my doctor fairly recently to get an adjustable bed. I recently learned that adjustable bases do not have to cost an arm and a leg. Stores over-charge for bases by about a 400% to 900% markup. For example: A similar base to the Lucid L600 in one of my local bed shops costs about $2300 in a twin XL and doesn't include voice control!  I bought the Lucid L600 adjustable base (Twin XL size) around April 5, 2021. I had been researching adjustable bases for 2 months prior, before landing on the L600.  Everyone knows that most adjustable bases are made in China with the same cheap metal, etc. The Lucid bases are made in Taiwan, but similar care should be taken. If that gives you pause, consider that many makes of the true high end Audiophile gear are also made in Taiwan, not to mention China either partially or on the whole.  That said, there is a distinct advantage to going with a Lucid base, I will get to momentarily.  Lucid, offers 5 levels of adjustable bases: The L100, L150, L300, Advanced and L600 The L600 is their top model.  All bases come with fixed height legs, but you can purchase adjustable ones through Lucid or Amazon if needed.  What makes the Lucid L600, L300 and Advanced stand out? For starters, it is the warranty. The standard warranty on adjustable bases of almost any other make is 1-year Limited just for the frame, the motors and other parts are not covered! Lucid offers a 10-year Limited warranty on the L600, L300 and Advanced models. This is almost unheard of in this industry!   Lucid's warranty breaks down this way: YEARS 1-3: Warranty covers defects in the workmanship or materials for a period of three (3) years from the date of purchase. Lucid® will send replacement parts for any defective part to the purchaser, and Lucid® will pay all authorized labor and transportation costs associated with the repair or replacement of any parts.  YEARS 4-10: During the years four (4) through ten (10) from the date of purchase, Lucid® will offer replacement parts for any defective mechanical part. Purchaser shall pay 1/7th of the replacement cost of the defective part multiplied by the number of years since three (3) years after the warranty commencement date and Lucid® shall bear the remainder of the cost of the replacement part. The purchaser shall bear all labor and shipping costs associated with repair or replacement of the defective part(s). An exception to this is the metal frame, which is covered in full for the duration of the 10 year warranty. On top of that though is the customer support Lucid offers that has to be experienced to be believed! I can't effectively describe it, you have to experience it. I had spoken with reps at Lucid several times before purchasing the L600 and every time they answered the phone within two rings and more importantly, they are the friendliest and most helpful folks! They treat their customers like family.   They have no hesitation or endless red tape to deal with regarding warranty or repair or any other issues with their customers. The customer service manager told me that they like to give the benefit of doubt to their customers should a warranty or repair issue occur instead of just throwing the customer under the bus automatically. It is unheard of to get this kind of warranty and support on a product like this.  You may purchase products from the Lucid website and you are taken to Amazon to complete the purchase in most cases. Lucid has exclusive contracts with Amazon, Walmart and Wayfair. The L600 (as with all their bases) is easy to assemble. If you have a partner to help, assembly takes about 10 minutes.  TIPS: The hardest part of assembling the base is flipping it onto its feet. The twin XL size is 100 pounds. This is why two people are recommended in assembly. Be careful NOT to lean it on its side using the legs as leverage to flip the base over! This increases the chance of either bending or breaking the leg bolts or a frame weld. If you don't have a partner to help, you can assemble it from beneath: look further in the customer comments on Amazon for how to do it. I also recommend that you use furniture sliders under the legs if you want to move the bed for any reason after assembly. Put one under each leg. Get the plastic ones for carpet and felt ones for hard floors. These can be had on the cheap. On any adjustable base I have heard a number of times about people going to move the bed a couple of inches and wind up bending or breaking a leg bolt or a weld due to too much pressure in one direction. This is true of any brand base.   Pros (or what I like):  Excellent customer support 10 year limited warranty High quality Okin motors with smooth, perfect speed operation, not too fast or slow. 18 button remote with clearly marked buttons including one programmable button and presets can also be reprogrammed by the end user! Backlit remote Android and iOS apps for more customization USB ports Under bed lighting Three strength and multi-mode massage Voice control (Siri only at this time, but Alexa ability is currently in the works and will be free for all owners when released) Cons: (Nothing is perfect so let's look at the caveats): While the remote is backlit it only comes on when you have pressed a button. Finding the correct button in the dark is impossible. Too bad the backlight on the remote does not activate with movement. The only other caveat is that there is no separate massage strength button, one just hits the head or foot massage button again to cycle through the strength. The "Mode" button cycles through the different massage modes. This is not that big a deal though, just something to note. Overall, the caveats hardly take away from the greatness of the product and with support like Lucid offers there is no reason not to consider an adjustable base from this company. Last tip: If you want to get the L600, L300 or the like, I highly suggest avoiding Wayfair at the moment. You are far better off going through the Lucid website or direct through Amazon or even Walmart. I recommend the Lucid/ Amazon route. You don't have to just take my word for it. If you are looking at getting an adjustable base (they also have mattresses and other bedding items) and have some questions, technical or otherwise. Go ahead and contact the good folks at Lucid and experience it for yourself!

Amazon Warehouse item may not be described fully
By JOL from Michigan on Reviewed in the United States on June 27, 2022
For starters, I spent hours researching adjustable beds and wanted to make sure that the one I got would be suitable for my husband who would be transitioning from a hospital bed to his bed at home. The Lucid L300 had positive top reviews with many sources that evaluated beds. I ordered a full size bed as it would fit the current bed frame that we have. As I was checking out, I noticed that there were other sellers of the bed. Amazon Warehouse was shown to have one that had a condition that indicated that it may have been returned, would be in the original packaging but the box may be damaged. The price was a little less than the new one I was going to get so I opted to purchase the one from the Amazon Warehouse. Delivery! This is where things got a little stressful. The bed was expected to be delivered on Friday, my day off work but on Thursday, I got a message that the bed would be delivered sometime that day. Right as I was heading into a meeting with my husband's therapy team, I got a call from the delivery driver who was at my house but wouldn't drive up my driveway due to her truck being too tall and the trees that line our drive would be in her way. I had no way of rushing to meet the Amazon driver and she basically just said OK and hung up. Later on, I did get a notification that allowed arrangements to be made for another delivery attempt the next day. The bed was delivered on Friday. The box had been taped with a heavy duty duck tape. When it was opened all appeared to be just like new. Individual pieces were in plastic bags like I would expect from the factory. But then as I was examining the underside of the bed to figure out where the legs got attached, I noticed that the wire that runs from the motorized lift mechanizism to the power cord had been spliced. I've attached a couple of pictures to show the area. The outer cover of the wire was stripped and each of the individual wires had black electrical tape around them. This was not what I expected at all. Time and options for me were not abundant as it has been an ordeal preparing our home so my husband could be released from the hospital. I decided to proceed with setting the bed up. It is a bit heavy for one person to maneuver the bed onto the legs that screw into place but after some careful thinking I realized that I could put the legs on one side of the bed and then set the bed down on those legs and then from the opposite side that was resting on the floor I could carefully lift the frame to attach the remaining legs. Once the bed was in position I plugged in to power cord and gratefully it worked. The remote had signs of wear which I've included a picture of. It works and for now that's what matters. I did make a call to Amazon and spoke to a women who listened patiently as I described how having spliced wires was not in any way indicated in the Amazon Warehouse description of the bed. She offered to have the bed picked up and issue a full refund. Because of the delivery complications already experienced I declined the offer and decided to keep the bed. She said she issued a $30 credit to be used on Amazon purchase but so far I can't find any where in my account that shows I have a credit to use. Bottom line....be aware that Amazon Warehouse items may not be accurately described and could be repaired. In my case, due to the nature of this item being electrical, had I known it had some wiring work done on it, I would have paid the full price for a new item. The best news to this story is that my husband loves this bed. It is far quieter than the hospital bed he was in for the last couple of months. I selected the Inofia full size hybrid mattress and it is working well in making him as comfortable as possible as he continues with his healing process. I like that it fit perfectly within the queen size wood bed frame that we have.
