Easy to use and keep your fingers!
By Bobbie on Reviewed in the United States on May 17, 2024
I love this mandolin! It's easy to use, easy to clean, and with the guard, easy to keep my fingers! You can make different types of cuts and different thickness. It's worked on anything I've put on it, but I have kept to only fruit/veggies. It's stable, and so very sharp! This is a major point for me because the sharpness means I don't have to exert large amounts of pressure. With shoulder damage, exerting strength causes pain, and I have none using this tool.

POOR DESIGN: unable to clean
By BrandonMag on Reviewed in the United States on September 24, 2024
TL;DR: do NOT buy the OXO Chef's Mandoline Slicer 2.0 (we purchased the steel version), there is no reason that a $70 kitchen tool cannot be COMPLETELY disassembled and cleaned properly.Full story: my wife and I have owned a couple dozen OXO products over the years and have had good experiences with EVERY single one... until now. (I actually don't want to leave a one-star review for an OXO product, because until today, I have always thought that the design and utility of OXO tools was pretty good... but keep reading and you will understand why.)Upon opening the box, both my wife and I were impressed with this mandoline: it is a VERY nice-looking tool, MUCH nicer than the standard white plastic OXO mandoline which we used for years. In fact, the only reason we decided to upgrade from that mandoline was the cracking plastic on the side of the body (this was after YEARS of use, so no complaints there).Once she had used this OXO Chef's Mandoline Slicer 2.0 for the first time, it was time to clean... and that is when we both realized that this product is designed POORLY: it CANNOT be completely disassembled. The slicing blade is the only part of the mandoline which can be removed from the body, the upper bed CANNOT be removed! Where the upper bed meets the julienne blades is too small for a brush; spraying it with a high-pressure faucet wand will remove some of the food particles, but NOT all. Together, my wife and I LITERALLY spent half an hour trying to figure out how it might be disassembled for cleaning... to no avail. :(Save yourself some money and frustration: buy the white plastic OXO mandoline. It works well enough and can be COMPLETELY disassembled, which is an absolute MUST for ANY mandoline.
