I have one on my couch and one on my loveseat. The quilted material is a bit sueded and is soft to the touch. The backing has a gripping material that helps prevent it sliding around. So sitting on it is very comfortable, don't notice it is there. It looks much better than sheets I had been using to keep dog hair off my couches. We must use the elastic straps or it pulls down. The straps work pretty well but the metal clips rotate almost perpendicular to what they are supposed to be so I adjust them often. The covers are too thin to vacuum and dog hair won't shake off them. But they go through the washer and dryer and look like new. I have had these a couple months and the stitching is holding up in spite of the washings and the dog jumping on and off.

It’s great. I have 2 dogs. Buying these covers (I have a couch and loveseat) was a very good decision.Okay, update. The covers cover the furniture and the backing holds them in place but when you wash them, the backing comes off like the back of an old bathmat. Lots of little white grains in the filter and as you remove the covers from the dryer, little white grains all over the laundry room. Then you put them back on the furniture. Next time you remove them to wash again, little white grains all over the furniture. You have to vacuum everything bc while the covers are being washed, people sit on the couch and then little white grains get all over the house. I just took them off to wash again and have been vacuuming the couch for a long time. (It’s a big couch). I still have to do the loveseat. I just bought another couch cover for my husband to take to a friend out of the country. I told him not to do it. I’m not going to do this anymore. I’m going to replace them.
