Astonishing

I am kicking myself that I didn't buy this vacuum sooner! I love the Miele Blizzard canister Vacuum. It was the price. I just kept thinking wow that is a hefty price for something that might break or won't work in a year. So I tried a handful of other vacuums and bought them from target. Target has an easy show up drop off return policy. I tried each one for a few weeks... I tried the Dyson upright ball, Shark Swivel pro-pet and Hoover Wind-tunnel. Don't even waste your time buying these.. Just bite the bullet and buy a Miele. None of those vacuums compared to the Miele Blizzard. The Miele Blizzard hands down is the fit for me. In the past we had a central vac system. We also had the hoover wind-tunnel to cover drapes or place the central vac didn't cover that last 15 years but was probably only truly used for 3 full years. The Blizzard is a canister vac. I grew up with an old canister vac that would bump into your legs causing cruel shin bruises as you did your family chores. My siblings and I would fight for who got stuck vacuuming with those mean machines. So I avoided canister vacs. WOW the Miele is nothing like those monsters of the 80s. The Blizzard Miele is gentle and moves around gracefully. If it does bump you, you will never notice. It glides effortlessly on the floor or carpet. Fantastic design. It sits low to the ground so doesn't collide with furniture or get stuck under chairs. The parts are intuitive. I had no issues putting this together and I struggle with connecting the dots. I have mostly wood floors. Except for two carpeted bedrooms my home is all wood with a few low pile area rugs. I did not want a vacuum that sucks so hard on the area rugs that you can't finish the job. This has an adjustable power strength and a separate head for rugs. These click on an off so easily. Again an intuitive designed. And the retractable cord. Perfect! My cleaning time is faster. Why? because the nozzle can adjust so I can pop off the larger tube to focus on getting into the corners, or shelves or baseboards...Its telescope! Yup, you can open and adjust on a whim. In the past I often skipped doing the corners or drapes because the parts were stowed in a closet and it was a pia to run get them and struggle with connecting them. The Blizzard is designed so you have everything you need right there in front of you. At any length and any suction. LOVE IT!!! But... Before you jump into a Miele I recommend you go to some online videos and learn about which one would work for your needs. Often people think they want SUCTION. That somehow that is going to solve their problems. But trust me the Shark offered suction but I was fighting the vacuum to let go of the area rugs. The Miele was a perfect balance of suction but focused on picking up dust and debris not my rugs or drapes. I wanted medium suction because of my delicate rugs. I wanted something more for wood floors. I also did not want to deal with throw away vacuum bags. I wanted a bagless vacuum. But if you have allergies or pets the Blizzard may not be what you need. We have NO pets and mild allergies. Miele makes other vacuums for thick carpets, dogs, allergy sufferers, throw away bags, stronger suction and filters to keep your home healthy and dust free. However as I say this the Blizzard has the best HEPA filter 99.999% of particles are sucked up and put into this filter making your air cleaner. The suction offers flow rate of 100k per hour. The coarse debris and fine dust can be separated. The coarse debris lands in the transparent dust container, the fine dust in a separate container with a fine dust filter. Honestly it is the best I have seen so far. I won't lie the price scared me at first.. But after a few deep breaths I bought it. And I have no regrets. It is a vacuum that is going to last. Oh I forgot. When I was in Germany staying with friends. They had a Miele. So I got to use it while staying in their guest house. It was when i first learned about this vacuum. The one I bought in the US is far superior to the one I borrowed. I assume theirs was the classic C1 perhaps 10 years old. Visit the Miele website or online videos to find the right one for you. The Miele Complete KONA or Brilliant might be better for you if you have thick carpets and children.

BUYER BEWARE!!!
By Gloria on Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2023
I bought my Blizzard in March, 2022. I LOVE this vacuum and, although the most expensive thing I bought all year, it is so superior to all other vacuums that I have owned, it is well worth the cost in my opinion. The caption of my review refers, not to the product, but to the customer service related to a problem. The turbo head that came with the vacuum stopped working one day in the middle of my work. I checked everything and found nothing that I could pin it on. I even emptied the dust and went through it meticulously to see if something got sucked up even though I did not hear anything. I called Amazon and spoke with a wonderful lady, Allayah. She gave me all the information I needed and even emailed it all to me so that I could proceed to the next step which was to contact Miele. She said, "If you've contacted the manufacturer and they can't help, please give us a call back and we'll work on another solution." A big thumbs UP for Allayah! I contacted Miele and spoke to Gabby, another lovely person and very helpful in getting all of my information into the Miele system so that I could take the next step: Call Amazon back; as an authorized dealer, they should now be able to help me. She also gave me the name of the nearest 'bricks and mortar' service provider who is more than 40 miles away in another state. I called Amazon back and spoke to, not one but two, very helpful support staff who, although they tried to find a resolution to my dilemma, could only offer me to return the entire machine, pay a restocking fee that would be refunded after a period of time. When I suggested to just return the broken part for a replacement, no, that is not possible. Well, I love my Miele and why would I return a perfectly good machine just because of an external part? This seems like overkill to me. The whole process and the 2 hours I just spent on the phone made me feel like a tennis ball in a match game! I am elderly and live alone. It is hard for me to think about driving over 40 miles to another state to get hands on service, yet that is what I am going to have to do. My caption for "Buyer Beware" is to let the reader know that, once purchased, do not expect "product support" to be forthcoming. You may want to purchase the extended warranty as it sounds like there might be a different process--a better one--if you do. My issue IS covered under the standard warranty, I just could not get a sense of who it is that has responsibility for it. Both Amazon and Miele are in denial about that! If the reader is elderly, you may want to consider purchasing your Miele from a store nearby as you will then have easy access if needed. I do not have a store nearby and really did not think that, with Miele's reputation, anything would go wrong! I will no longer be buying any large item from Amazon after this experience. I need, at my age, to be able to count on someone, somewhere, to have a sense of responsibility toward the customer. ALL of the reps that I spoke to were kind, polite, informative but ultimately helpless. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE MIELE! JUST DON'T BUY IT FROM AMAZON!!
