So far, so good
By Beefy on Reviewed in the United States on October 2, 2018
While we are far from the pinnacles of health when it comes to our dietary choices, we do not own a fryer because it's been one small thing we omit to pretend we're somewhat healthy. One of my coworkers has been raving about her air fryer, and I just didn't think we'd have much use for it. That all changed when my mom found one of those "buy a suspiciously large bag of chicken wings for an exceptionally low price" deals. We read a lot of reviews, chose this one, and gave it a try. It had a slight plastic odor to it, but it went away after a quick wipe down and a wash of the basket and tray. I initially threw in 5 frozen chicken wings to get a sense of how it worked. About 22 minutes later, we had these exceptionally juicy-on-the-inside but crispy-on-the-outside chicken wings. They were delightful! Batch #2 was a single layer of chicken wings, but I packed it full. That batch needed closer to 26 minutes on 390, turning twice in between, and they came out just as well as the first batch did. I decided to push it a little further for Batch #3, and I filled the bin up with wings. That batch took over 30 minutes to cook, but with a few solid shakes here and there, everything still got delightfully crispy. We were surprised at how much chicken fat collected under the tray. This is a good thing, because that meant we weren't eating it. We let the fat solidify a bit, gave it a good wipe, and threw it in the dishwasher for a good wash. We used it again the following night to toast a few different types of bread, and those all came out well too. Since we live in the Northern US, I can see us using this primarily as a fryer substitute or in the heat of summer. For the winter months, we'll probably stick to the oven because we don't mind the heat, and we can keep some counter space open too. All-in-all, I recommend it and am glad we finally got one. Give it a try!

Worked 4 months-should have believe poor reviews
By lwhitaker6 on Reviewed in the United States on August 22, 2024
I read the reviews before purchasing and decided to take a chance that it would work really well like it did for most people. I ordered it April 20, 2024 and it stopped working August 22, 2024. I should have believed the poor reviews but there weren't that many of them. We used it a lot. Very inconvenient for it to break so soon and only paid about $78 for it but for only about 4 months of use maybe I should have gone with a more expensive one. Watched YouTube videos in hopes it would be an inexpensive fix and it does light up but the time and temperature don't light up. The start up button lights up but nothing happens when you push it.
